"This is the law God himself laid down, my friends! It is there for a reason! Do you think it's just there to tell a story?"
Many more 'no's' from the audience. Kim lifted her own hands in the air saying, "Thank you, Jesus!"
"We will win this war if we persevere. God will grant us the strength and the courage to do it. We must do it if we are to survive as true Christians. We need to help God bring His wrath down upon these people before it's too late. These people aren't only living in sin, they are the sin. They are living, breathing sin. My own sister, the well known architect from Denver, is part of this sin. She and her quote, 'wife' are part of the problem." Ryan made a sudden, forceful air-quote gesture with his fingers. "They aren't sinners, they are the sin itself! My sister has been possessed by the devil himself, just like every other gay person on this planet. There is no hope for them anymore. No hope whatsoever!"
Ryan paced back and forth behind the podium, letting his message sink in.
"Are we gonna let this continue people?" he asked, looking over the crowd. Several people shook their heads. "I don't think so!"
Ryan Savage continued his vitriol-filled speech for about another twenty minutes before he invited people to come forward. "Ladies and gentleman, by now I'm sure you can see the way is clear. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life. If any of you are ready to accept this truth, the ONLY truth, then I would urge you to step forward today. Don't hesitate ladies and gentlemen. This could be your last moment on Earth. Jesus is calling you into His service. The question is, will you answer Him?"
Kim rose up out of her seat, urging her friend, Marilyn Miller to come forward with her. Marilyn shook her head, mouthing the word 'no' . Kim shrugged her shoulders in disappointment at her friend's lack of support.
Kim and another woman, along with a man, stepped toward the podium.
"Is this all the support Jesus is going to get today?" Ryan asked, scanning the audience. "This could be your one and only chance, folks. Don't let it slip away."
The three stood in front of him as he lifted his arms toward the garage ceiling. He said the following prayer, "Lord Jesus, I offer these three people to You today for Your gift of salvation. To be born again of Your blood, oh, Lord. Do the three of you acknowledge that Jesus Christ is the one and only Lord?"
"Yes," the three said in unison.
"Confess with your mouths now that Jesus is Lord."
"Jesus is Lord," the three added.
"Do you believe that Jesus died for your sins and was raised from a state of death three days later?"
"We believe."
Ryan handed them each a paper. "Please read what's written here out loud," he instructed them."
The three of them read the following:
"God, I recognize that I have not lived my life for You up until now. I have been living for myself and that is wrong. I need You in my life; I want You in my life. I acknowledge the completed work of Your Son Jesus Christ in giving His life for me on the cross at Calvary, and I long to receive the forgiveness you have made freely available to me through this sacrifice. Come into my life now, Lord. Take up residence in my heart and be my King, my Lord, and my Savior. From this day forward, I will no longer be controlled by sin, or the desire to please myself, but I will follow You all the days of my life. Those days are in Your hands, oh Lord. I ask this in Jesus' precious and holy name. Amen."
"Now come forward and be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ!" Ryan exclaimed with jubilation.
Devon James stepped forward, removing a bottle of what appeared to be holy water from inside his leather jacket.
"Are you ready to be baptized in the name of Jesus?" he asked them.
"We're ready," they acknowledged.
Devon took the cap off the bottle, placing his finger partially over the opening. "I baptize you all in the name of Jesus. Let this holy water wash away your sins. You are now born anew.
