the spanking bench. I have a feeling you’re going to be spending a lot of hours there.”
The words sank in. She shook her head as the reality of her situation came into crystal focus. He was going to hit her. Spank her. “No, please.”
“Yes.” He grasped her arm, pulling her to a black leather seat that looked like a workout bench. She dragged her feet, willfully resisting him with the weight of her body.
He shot her a sharp, annoyed glare. “Are you going to fight me every step of the way?”
“B-but…” She stared at the bench, eyes wide. “I don’t want to.”
He dropped her arm, and walked over to the bench, reaching underneath the black leather seat. With a flick of Mason’s wrist, part of the seat angled up and the other dropped, transforming it into one of the benches she’d seen on the internet.
She gasped, looking around the room with a fresh set of eyes. Before she could reassess, Mason’s voice snapped her to attention.
“I’m only going to say this once.” He rested his palm on the angled part of the bench. “Feisty can be cute but outright defiance is not. Either get your ass over here or say stop and go home. The choice is yours, Anna.”
Naked, exposed and more vulnerable than she’d ever felt in her life, she twisted her hands like a lost little kid. “Why are you doing this?” Her voice cracked.
Hard-eyed, he studied her with a stoic mask that showed no mercy. “You picked this path, remember? You didn’t want to talk. You wanted to get it over with. So here we are.”
    “B-but—”
“Enough. Get on the bench or say stop.”
That wasn’t what she’d meant and he knew it. Her chin tilted.
He tapped his fingers impatiently on the leather.
    It was a standoff.
He glanced over her shoulder, looking meaningfully at something that made her peer behind her. It was then she saw the black iron clock hanging on the wall. Ticking away without mercy or kindness. Relentless.
An eerie silence fell over the room as tension filled the space between them.
Tick, tick, tick. The sound, now deafening, seemed to punctuate Mason’s growing disapproval.
“Eyes on me, Anna.” An order.
She obeyed without hesitation. Survival instinct.
“It’s not about force.” He said the words with no softness but she thought she detected a flash of emotion in his expression. “You either want it or you don’t. It’s really that simple.”
She blinked. There was nothing simple about it. It changed everything. That little niggling she’d tried so desperately to ignore stubbornly pushed its way to the forefront of her mind.
She straightened her shoulders. She knew what she wanted. Her punishment.

Chapter Five

Mason put the flat of his palm on Anna’s back as she draped herself over the bench. He closed his eyes and listened to her quick, somewhat shallow breath. Felt the fast rise and fall of her rib cage.
Good. A little fear was good, exciting even, but he didn’t want her terrified. His gaze traveled the lines of her spine, down the curve of her waist and ass to tightly clasped legs. “Spread your legs, Anna.”
Muscles tensed under his touch but she opened fractionally.
He smiled at her attempt to obey while doing the bare minimum. “More.”
Those fantastic thighs spread another inch.
    “Farther.”
A long, exaggerated sigh before moving her knees apart as far as the bench would allow.
He would have laughed if he weren’t so damn hard and he didn’t desire her so damn much. Cock pressed painfully against the zipper of his jeans, he wondered how he’d make it through the next couple of hours. He’d wanted to take her right up against the wall the second she’d stepped into the house.
He didn’t intend to wait much longer.
He moved to stand by her feet, nearly salivating at the sight of her lush, naked ass propped up ready for use. All that smooth skin spread out like a feast.
The first time he’d seen her naked, all he’d been able to think about was how
