with arousal, though, and he willed the guy to get off the elevator already.
As it turned out, the man abandoned the lift on the first floor. Who the fuck took the elevator for one flight of stairs? Jesus Christ.
The moment the doors of the elevator closed, Brody reached for Carson and crushed his lips to his mate’s, dropping their shopping bag on the floor. For a few moments, Carson enthusiastically responded, but then he broke away from Brody.
“We can’t,” he panted. “The camera. They’ll see.”
Brody cursed stupid indecent exposure laws and wished they didn’t apply to shape-shifters. There should be some sort of norm that noted the difference between them and humans. Humans might be able to keep it in their pants, but Brody felt like he would burst if he didn’t get inside his mate in that very same moment.
“Just come here,” he murmured, taking his mate in his arms.
    “There’s no law against kissing.”
Carson surrendered and for a few moments, Brody allowed himself to revel in his mate’s kiss. Now that their bond was complete, he could feel Carson so much better, deep inside his heart. Sex wasn’t enough to claim one’s mate—hell, it wasn’t even required, since the bite did all the work. However, with Carson, his true mate, it was different. Brody needed to mark Carson, to brand the lamb as his over and over again. His body ached for a renewed coupling, and he rubbed against his mate, his prick so hard it hurt. Just a little longer, just a little longer and he would get what he wanted.

At last, a more than welcome “ping” and a swoosh announced they’d reached their stop. Brody broke away from Carson, and they stumbled out of the elevator. At the last moment, Brody remembered to grab their purchases. It would truly be a pity if they lost their bag of goodies. Brody intended to put them all to good use.
He dragged his mate toward their room and reached it in record time. It was only then that he realized he had no idea what he’d done with the key card. Before he could panic, Carson offered it to him with a trembling hand. Breathing in a sigh of relief, Brody snatched the card and opened the door.
At last they were in private. No sooner had Brody closed the door than Carson pounced on him in an uncharacteristic display of aggression, pressing their lips together. It seemed his little lamb wanted this as much as Brody did.
Brody growled and took over the kiss. Using his larger body, he directed them toward the bed, without releasing his mate from the lip-lock. God, Carson was incredible. Brody couldn’t believe that in only a day, they felt so close to each other. This could just happen with fated mates. He was sure of it.
Brody pushed Carson onto the mattress and took advantage of his mate’s slight daze to empty the bag on the bed. They’d ended up buying quite a good selection of toys, ranging from a cock ring to anal beads and even handcuffs and a flogger. It had made a significant dent in Brody’s budget, but the hell with it.
Carson licked his lips as he watched the items on the bed.
    “Brody…”
The sound of his name on Carson’s lips sufficed to break the remnants of Brody’s control. He pounced on his mate, randomly ripping the just-purchased clothing. Carson helped him take his own off. The clumsiness of that first time was gone, replaced by a need guiding their bodies, making them move together. There were no more doubts, not in Brody’s mind and not in Carson’s either. Sure, things weren’t perfect and they still had a lot to learn about each 36

other, not to mention all the shit Brody’s pack would give him. But this…This was so right, so true. In that moment, Brody could trust everything would be all right in the end.
Carson briefly broke the kiss and gave him a playful glare. “Stop thinking so hard.”
He pushed Brody off him and straddled him, all the while analyzing the items on the bed with
