    ”Serenity, are you ok?” Logan asked in worry.
     
    “Yes, I’m sorry. My wolf had taken over for a minute.”  Realization hit. His mate wasn’t the one giving him signs. It had been her wolf.
     
    My mate, I want my mate.” Logan’s wolf cried out .
     
    “‘ Down boy, it looks like we might not get completion tonight.” He tried to sooth his wolf. With a sigh, Logan led them back to the pack house. He was sure his friends would be there. Especially after all the excitement.
     
    Serenity followed him as he led her to the place where his mother always kept extra clothes for him.  After shifting, he handed her a shirt and she went to shift. Once again, he was in awe at how good she looked in his shirts.  When they walked in, the house was empty. After looking around they spotted the note.
    Logan,
     
    We talked to the Alpha. He said we would talk in the morning.
    We cleared out and set things up for you so get our girl.  We like her.
    She was bad ass today, make sure you do things right,

    PS. We called her dad so he’s not expecting her back tonight.           
     
     
     
    Wow, this was the nicest thing those lug heads had ever done for him! “Well, it looks like it’s just you and me tonight.” She blushed so sweetly. “Do you want anything to drink?”
     
    “No, but I do want some panties.” The words were followed by more blushing.  Logan couldn’t help himself and leaned in to take her lips in a light kiss. Serenity closed her eyes and leaned in. He then wrapped her in his arms while bringing her flush against him. “So soft and womanly.” He whispered while nuzzling her neck.
    The moment he felt her legs wobble Logan pulled back. With a meaningful sigh, he led her to the couch.  “I promised no pressure. Now let’s talk. I want to hear about your life before coming here.”
     
    They talked all night and before long he was able to understand why she was so cautious. He was sure she now saw him in a different light to. He just acted goofy, but he took his job very seriously. One day, when his father would exist no more. He will be Alpha. Their people needed a strong man, just as strong as his father is.
     
    When they both became sleepy. Logan carried Serenity to the room he when here. Once again his wolf demanded they claim her. Yet he knew better, Logan wanted to earn her trust. That would not happen if they took advantage of the situation.
     
    “We need our mate now!” His wolf howled one last time.
     
    “No, we must protect our mate. You know that more than I do. For now, you should be happy that we can sleep with her in our arms.” Serenity fell asleep almost as soon as her head hit the pillow. She looked so cute and Logan tried to relax as she cuddled into him. “Life couldn’t get any better than this.”
     
    The sound of a wolf whistle woke him up the next morning. “What happened? I walked in and didn’t smell a mating scent?”
     
    When he heard the voice Logan’s eyes sprang open. “Son of a bitch.” The first thought was to make sure Serenity was covered since she still had no panties on. “You’re lucky she’s covered. I would hate to have to rip you apart.”
     
    “Stop being a grumpy pants and get up so we can have breakfast.” Kevin said, that only earned him a glare. It surprised Logan to see Kevin alone. He wondered where the other guys were. “Still at home I guess.”
