He doesn't need to get in this. And also, from the start, he believed in training others. It's complicated with him."
"He was your best friend, right?" she asked.
"More than anyone. He was like my brother." Painful thoughts flooded my mind. I had never talked about this with anyone, but Eva ought to know everything about me. I couldn't imagine losing her because of some stupid lies of mine.
"I think you should train with him."
"Why do you think that?"
"My gut feeling. I don't have the answer, but I feel that way," She replied.
We finished our burger and walked back to the car. "I need to go and pack my bags. I will call you before heading to bed."
"You are serious about living with your mother, then?" I asked. "What about Chloe?"
"That's another story. I am trying to convince her for just a month." She threw her hands in the air.
"See you, then." I waved goodbye and started my engine. I kept thinking about her suggestion on training with Mason again.
Chapter 7
Good Bye
Eva
"Wake up sleeping beauty. Come and have some breakfast." I shouted from kitchen and started cooking eggs. I heard Chloe entering the kitchen and then suddenly she hugged me from behind.
"Err, go away, lady" I pushed her back. "Don't you see I 'm making eggs"
When I turned back to face her I noticed that she was wearing just a long shirt. "I see Martin was here last night."
"At last." Chloe moaned. "He came here after almost a month."
"What?" I shouted.
"We fought, and then we fought and then we fought again. And we forgot about sex. But finally, yesterday, I broke my dry spell of a month."
"Thank God things are working with you guys." I hugged her. I wanted them to be happy with each other, but lately they only fought.
"Let’s hope so." She exhaled.
I took a deep breath. I was going to tell her the news I had hidden from her. "I have some bad news for you."
"What?"
"I'm moving out of the apartment."
"Did he ask you to move in?"
"No."
"Why? I thought chocolate boy would ask you any day to marry him," she teased.
I blushed. "We've just met, Chloe. Moving in would be something I could dream about. First ,I want to know him better."
"Then what have you been doing for the last few months?"
"months?" I didn't understand her.
"Nothing. Holy crap, you guys have wasted so much time getting to know each other. I thought the reason behind his keeping a distance with you, was the 'knowing you' thing."
"Yes, that's true. But..." I tried to explain to her, but I couldn't. I certainly saw a future with Nathan, but it was too early to think about all that.
"I thought you love each other."
"Yes, we do."
"And he is crazy for you."
"He is."
I breathed heavily. "I'm moving out, but only for a month. My mother is coming for a month and she wants me to stay with her."
"What?" Her face twisted in shock. She waved her hands in frustration. "Are you leaving me alone here? When and Martin and I are on the verge of breaking up?"
"I am so sorry, Chloe. I should have told you about this earlier. But I didn't believe that she would actually come. I thought she was lying about it." .
"Calm down, babe. It's okay, I can handle this. It would have been better if you were around. But..." She tried to smile. "I will handle. This don't worry."
"Thank God, Chloe. You are just awesome." I hugged her tightly. But inside, I was crying. Leaving her in that situation was tearing me apart. She needed me, but my mother was there and I had no other choice. "And I'm sorry."
"One thing, Eva." She touched my cheek. "Are you sure? You really want to live with her, considering her manipulative nature?"
"What other option do I have, Chloe?"
"Stand up to her." She gave a straight answer, but I couldn't do that. Standing up to her was only possible in my head. In the last few years, whenever I stood up to my mother, my eyes went down automatically and my heart filled with panic.
"If only it was easy as it sounds," I whispered.
"It won't be until you try." She
