realized that Bear was standing directly behind me.
“So many people want to hire the company. I’m sure Josie will
be thrilled.”
I turned around to look at him.
“Bear, what a wonderful get-together and those dragon breath
shrimp—I can’t stop eating them,” said a man as he walked by holding a plate of
the finger foods.
“He’ll probably pay for his greed later,” whispered Bear.
    I laughed.
“I haven’t told you how beautiful you look tonight, and I
think it only fair as host that I get to dance with you.”
    “But I’m working.”
“Yes, for me and only me.”
He pulled me toward the dance floor and nodded to the band. A
tangolike song began to play.
“But I don’t know how to tango,” I said.
“I do so go where my body takes you.”
Everyone stood to the sides of the dance floor as Bear and I
took our places and I suddenly felt nervous about humiliating myself big time.
Bear grabbed my hand and pulled me into his body and soon he
was pulling me to the left, and then he snapped his head to the right and spun
me. My feet could hardly keep up and I felt like this was the scene from Scent
of a Woman.
I trusted Bear and let him lead me, my body melting into his,
and soon I was doing moves I’d seen on YouTube but never dared do myself. It
was almost as if we were perfect partners or had done this in another life.
I noticed Ted and Mabel standing watching us and laughing as
we whizzed by them close to the edge of the floor. Ted put his fingers in his
mouth and whistled just as the music stopped and everyone clapped our
performance. Bear spun me around to the applause and then kissed the back of my
hand.
Soon everyone was back on the dance floor, and Bear and I
were dancing with them to the band’s rendition of “Simply Irresistible.”
“Where did you learn to dance like this?” I asked Bear.
“It comes naturally to a bear shifter.”
I didn’t know whether to believe it or not but he knew all
the moves, especially the next one when he pulled me in close as the music
changed to a slow number.
He had an erection that was hard to miss as it stabbed
against my belly. His body was warm and muscular, and I smelled a combination
of him, werebear, and the sexy cologne he favored. I put my cheek on his chest
and closed my eyes, allowing him to lead me around the dance floor. I could
stay like this forever but tomorrow I was going home, and I didn’t know if I’d
ever see Bear again. A tear ran from my eye, and it was almost as if he knew I
was suddenly melancholy. He kissed the top of my head.
“I hope that dress you’re wearing wasn’t expensive,” he
asked.
    “No, why?”
“Because once I’ve said goodbye to the last of my guests I’m
taking you upstairs and I’m going to rip it from your body and then fuck you
all night long.”

    Chapter Twelve
I don’t know if it was my imagination or my impatience
perhaps, but it seemed the last of the guests, a man and woman who I’d known
for five years, didn’t seem to want to leave. I didn’t want to seem rude but at
the same time, I wanted to open the door and say see ya.
What made the whole situation worse was Ali was standing in
the hallway and in my view. She turned sideways allowing me to see the outline
of her breasts and butt in the clingy red wrap around dress. I liked my lips.
She reminded me of the story of Little Red Riding Hood, and I was the big bad
bear.
I yawned. Yes, I was desperate enough to let my guests think
they were boring me and keeping me from bed.
“I’m sure you want to go to bed,” the man finally said.
Oh how true was that but not to sleep but to fuck, fuck,
fuck.
“We’ll get together next week for dinner,” I said.
    “Would love to.”
I shook his hand and then kissed his wife on the cheek.
“Fantastic party and you must give me the name of the company
who organized it,” he said as he stepped outside.
I waved, shut the door, turned around and put my back against
it. Ali was
