him to go deeper .  “Oh yes!” She started to come, and it was the scariest and the most wonderful feeling she had ever had.  She wanted to experience it again and again with him.
    “ Zara!”
She shook her thoughts clear.  Her first time with Tiger had been controlled and gentle.  He really took care of her needs.  He made her feel wanted and beautiful.  It was what a male and female mating should be like.  Then the drugs had kicked in and they basically were reduced to animals rutting.
The scientists preferred their subjects not form any attachments so they had brought Tiger to her only a few times .  Since they were cooperative, the drugs weren't needed.  She enjoyed those few moments with Tiger.  It was special.  The scientists were pleased as well because Tiger’s seed took.
He wasn ’t brought to her after that and she hadn’t seen him at all since then.  She never had a chance to let Tiger know she carried his child.  Nine months later, she bore Angel.  She was barely seventeen.  The moment she held Angel in her arms, she felt a love for another being she had never felt before.
She had thought about Tiger over the next two years, wondering if he was still alive, whether or not he had suc cessfully mated with other females.  Did Angel have brothers and sisters? She hadn’t had time to love Tiger, but she would always be grateful to him for his kind treatment of her and for giving her a beautiful daughter.
When the scientists ripped Angel from her arms, they had to sedate her.  She wanted to tear them limb-by-limb.  Her soul was torn from her body that day.  Zara kept a check on her emotions over the years.  She had to be in control of everything around her.  She was tough and was determined never to let anyone get close enough to hurt her or to take anything else away from her that she cared about.
Zara finished her shower .  She dried off and put on her clothes.  She would have to seek out Trig later.  There were more questions she needed to answer for him.  She was nervous about seeing him again so soon after their encounter.  She didn’t understand why she responded to him like she did.  It was almost as if he was her mate or something.  Which would be ridiculous.  There is no way she would mate a human.  No way.

“This is it.  The last area that still hasn't been renovated with security cameras.”
“ There are no security cameras in the suites?”
“ No.  The fighters have had bad experiences with cameras being used on them at the orphanages and the breeding facilities.  They refuse to add cameras to their personal space.”
“ That’s a risk,” he commented, shaking his head.
“ I know, but there is no bending them to this.”
“ I think the changes you have made are really going to make the ship safer.  I like the eye retinal scans and the way you moved all the fighters to the same floors and require a code for the elevators to open on those floors.”
“ I’ve ordered the stairwell doors to those floors to have the code security to them as well.  The only problem is, during a fire, the doors will unlock on their own.”
“ Yeah, that will be a problem.  But you can’t get around the fire marshal’s requirements.” There was a small pause as they walked back to the security room.
“ So, are you meeting up with Zara later?” Rachel asked casually.  She could swear her friend was blushing.  It was hard to tell with his beautiful dark skin.
    “ I am doing a job.”
She snorted .  “Looked like you were doing her.”
    “ Shut it.”
    “ Whatever.”

Chapter Four

“ Hey,” Trig greeted Zara when they met up at the small restaurant on the ship.  Normally there were banquet halls used when they reached spaceports.  The restaurants were normally for the non-GCFA passengers.  But while traveling region to region, the fighters liked to dine at the restaurant for a change of venue.
Trig had changed into a dark
