Jackson’s dark eyes traveled over her body. Again, they didn’t have the same effect as Yuma’s. He held his hand out to shake, but as she brought her hand to his, he grabbed it and gently brought it to his lips. “It is a pleasure to meet you, Madison, I’ve heard a lot about you.”
“Get your damned lips off my woman, asshole.”
She knew that his brother was just trying to annoy Yuma, but Jackson was going to end up dead if he didn’t get away from her. By the way Yuma was tensing up, it appeared that his fists were going to be flying at any moment.
“Are you going to let him talk to me that way? Hell, I’m the most attractive brother of them all. I’m gentle and slow. I could make you…”
“Jack, you’ve got three seconds to get back into your kitchen before I start tearing this place down—using your body as the hammer. Understand?” Yuma growled as he stood up next to his brother.
Jackson laughed at him, but Madi was too busy wondering what the hell was going on to say much of anything. “Put your wolf down, bro—I was just joking.” Both men were watching her. “How do you put up with him?”
“I haven’t decided that yet,” she replied softly, taking in the sight of both handsome men. She wondered briefly if they’d ever shared a woman but let the thought go with a blush. She didn’t want both of them. It was just a lewd image that filtered through her mind.
“What nasty thought just went through your head, baby?” She shook herself out of her daze gently.
Yuma’s eyes had narrowed on her. Fuck, can he read my mind? she wondered. “Not a thing, Yuma, not a blessed thing.” She’d never been good at lying and hoped he wouldn’t press the issue.
Gladly, he didn’t, but she doubted it would rest for long. Jackson left them alone as they waited for their dinner. She was sitting so close to him that she could feel the heat coming from his big body. Her nipples were so hard they could cut glass. She wished she’d grabbed a sweater before they left her place. Not that it was cold, she just felt uncomfortable with her nipples so hard for everyone to see. She attempted to cover them with her arms, but Yuma wasn’t happy with that.
“Put your arms down,” he instructed as he took a sip of his drink. He wanted to see those nipples that were ready for him. He could taste them in his mouth already, pebbled and aching for his touch.
    “What?” she croaked.
“Put your arms down,” he repeated, more gently than he would have liked, but hell, they were in a public place. When she didn’t readily jump to do as he said, he added a stern “ Now! ” Without warning or thought, her arms moved so that her hands were in her lap and her nipples were poking at him through her lacy silver bra and thin gauzy top.
“We’re not at the dungeon.” She reminded him meekly.
“It doesn’t matter, Madison.” While the volume of his voice was soft, its tone was rough, as if her questioning him was a crime. “I can’t change who I am or what I need any more than you can.”
“I am not a brainless wimp, Yuma. I don’t need a man telling me what to do all the freaking time.”
“I wouldn’t be here with you if I thought you were a brainless wimp. That’s not what pulls me toward you.” He stopped talking as the waiter brought out their dinner. As their steaks were set in front of them, he watched her as he tried to figure out what was going on in her mind.
They ate their fill in relative silence and took what was left in to-go boxes. After helping her into the car, Yuma got in, started the car, and simply sat staring at her. “Will you go home with me?” Long fingers brushed a silky red strand of hair away from her face. His lips brushed against hers softly. “Will you trust me to take care of you?”

Chapter 5

She nodded, too at a loss for words to continue. It seemed like the minute he touched her, her brain turned to mush. How long will it take to get him out of my
