Her hands flew to his chest and she let out a contented sigh.
He moved back and forth, enjoying the endorphin high he allowing pleasure to sluice through him . Sweat beaded his brow, and his breathing shallowed as the burn in his groin grew.   The tension became unbearable and then he was thrusting home.  “Hell!”  He muttered as his body jerked and spasmed and he poured part of his very soul into her.
He leaned down and took her mouth in a gentle kiss, then pulled out and dropped down next to her.  She turned to him and curled herself into his chest. He wrapped both arms around her. “That was amazing ,” he murmured as he kissed the top of her head. “It was,” s he yawned and nuzzled against his chest. “I wish we could stay this way forever.”
He stroked a hand along her back.  “Me too, baby.  Me too.”

Chapter 5

Emma opened her eyes and a second later bolted for the bathroom.  She didn’t even have time to turn on the light before she dropped to her knees in front of the toilet.  Her stomach lurched and rolled as what remained from dinner came back up.
“Em? Are you okay?” Holt’s concerned voice came from the doorway, but her stomach wouldn’t stop cramping long enough for her to speak.  Within seconds he was by her side, pulling her hair up and out of the way with one hand while rubbing gentle circles along her back with the other.  “Should I get help?”
She managed to shake her head as dry heaves twisted her stomach.  Finally after another moment she sat back on her heels and rested her head against his chest.  Her skin was damp with sweat and she struggled to regulate her breathing as her stomach continued to churn.
“Are you sure I shouldn’t get help?” Holt asked again.
Feeling like a limp noodle she shook her head again as her body began to shiver.  “Not yet.”
“Are you sure, baby, because I can call Doctor Andrews.”
Despite a sudden chill through her body, she noted that her stomach began to settle and she started to feel marginally better. She nodded.  “I’m sure.  Help me up.”  Gently he helped her to her feet.  Emma leaned against the bathroom counter and rinsed her mouth.  “I think maybe my stomach’s just upset over everything taking place with you and Bryan.  Or maybe I just ate something that didn’t agree with me, that’s all.” At least she hoped that’s all it was.  Honestly, she hadn’t been feeling right for months, but her stomach really started bothering her a few days ago. She finished and looked at Holt in the mirror.  “Let’s try to get some sleep.”
The concern on his face warmed her heart, but the last thing she wanted was for him to worry.  He had enough on his plate right now without adding her to the mix.  She turned to face him and placed a hand on his bare chest.  The feel of his heart beating beneath her palm filled her with a sense of security.  No matter what curve balls life might throw her direction Holt would be there.  “Please don’t worry.  I’m sure it will pass.”
He stared down at her for a moment before embracing her in a hug.  His lips brushed over her forehead and he sighed.  “Let’s go back to bed.”
When she awoke the next morning the nauseous feeling still lingered, but thankfully she didn’t feel as if she were going to puke again.  Holt rolled over and looked at her. “How you feeling?”
“Okay.” She sat up and took a deep breath.  Maybe the worst was over.  “I think I’m going to grab a shower.”
Holt nodded.  “Take your time and I’ll see if Garrett is up yet.”
Still feeling weak, she made her way to the bathroom, stripped and stepped into the spray.  The hot water felt good against her skin, sluicing through her battered system.  She went to work washing her hair.  Maybe the stress of the last few months had finally caught up with her.  Stress was a funny thing, it had a way of eating at a person and exposing their
