her wanted to believe that it wasn’t real. All around her, people were discussing their Christmas plans, finishing their coffee, and comparing recent purchases. Chuckling to herself, she wondered what they would think if they knew the dirty thoughts that were going through her head.

Once again, her nerves made her early. After sitting alone in her car for nearly half an hour, the dashboard clock finally clicked over to eight o’clock. Walking up to the front door, she reminded herself of why she was there. The decision had involved a lot of Internet and soul searching, but she had finally decided to go through with it. With a last big breath, she rang the doorbell.
The time between when she heard the ring and when Anthony appeared was torturous. It was her last chance to disappear without having to make any explanation. The twins would know that she got cold feet, but she wouldn’t actually have to account for her actions.
As soon as she saw him, she knew she had made the right choice. She focused on his deep dimples and the flecks of green lighting his eyes.
“I was afraid you might not show up.” Anthony held the door wide open, ushering her into the house.
“I was kind of worried about that, too.” She took a deep breath and tried to let the stress melt from her shoulders.
“Do you want something to drink? Wine, beer, vodka?” He was already halfway down the hall to where she presumed was the kitchen.
The offer was tempting. Alcohol would certainly help her relax, but she wanted to remember the experience, and alcohol would only cloud her memories. “No, thanks.”
“Are you nervous?” He moved back toward her and pulled her into his arms. The warmth of his body turned her insides into a pile of goo.
    “Is it that obvious?”
“Look, we’ll just take things slow tonight. If it doesn’t work, we’ll try again another night.”
Of course, she couldn’t tell him, but she had decided tonight was her Christmas gift to herself. Glancing around, she noticed that a very important component of the evening was missing. “Where’s Devon?”
“Upstairs. I wanted to meet you alone first to make sure you are really okay with this arrangement. You sounded very set on your decision on the phone this morning, but now that you’ve had all day to think about it, I thought you might have some doubts.”
    “No doubt just some nerves.”
“Well, whenever you’re ready, we can head upstairs.”
She paused for a moment, reminding herself of why she was there. It had been a terrible year, believing that she would wind up alone, with no hope of ever finding love. Every time she went out, people would stare at her. Then she met Anthony. He didn’t look away from her face or pretend that the accident hadn’t happened. Instead, he had actually managed to convince her she was still beautiful. Then she found out that not one, but two gorgeous men actually wanted her enough that they refused to let her go. Any woman would kill to be in that position, but for her, it was more. The universe was making up for the crappy Christmas she’d had the year before. If the world wanted her to have a threesome, she wasn’t about to argue. “Let’s go.”
He took her hand and led her up the stairs. Turning into the first door on the left, he pulled her into open bedroom. Devon sat at a desk against one of the walls. As soon as they walked in, he jumped up, closing the laptop he had been working on. He was grinning like a little boy on Christmas morning.
Anthony kept a tight hold of her hand. “If you change your mind, all you have to do is say so and we’ll stop.” He looked at her very seriously. She nodded.
Leading her to the bed, he sat down and patted the spot next to him, indicating for her to do the same. As soon as she did, he twisted toward her, tilted her head, and began kissing her. It only took a second for her to forget about her nerves. Melting into his body, she let him lower her onto the
