“Need you to put him in the shower,” Manny said pointing at the shower.
“Okay, but I’m gonna need help getting him inside of it.”
Emmanuel and Manny looked at each other waiting to see who was gonna volunteer. They hadn’t thought about the fact that even after Jessica undressed him, someone was still gonna need to help him into the shower. As Jessica began to remove Yamin’s clothing, Emmanuel took off running out of the bathroom leaving Manny to do the job. Manny shook his head and let out a huge sigh.
Once Jessica had fully undressed Yamin, she turned the faucet on and allowed a stream of hot water to fill the tub. She grabbed a hold of Yamin’s legs and assisted Manny with getting him inside the water. Yamin let out a few grunts and rested his head against the tub. The water became tinted with blood from the cut in his hand.
“Just holler when you need me to help you get him out,” Manny said before exiting the bathroom.
Jessica turned the water off, grabbed a towel, and soaked it in the water. She grabbed Yamin’s Axe body wash and squirted a quarter sized amount onto the towel. Rubbing the towel together, she lathered up the soap and began to wash every inch of his body. She kind of felt bad seeing him like this, since she purposely didn’t call or even think to come by to check on him. If it had not been for Manny and Emmanuel demanding that she come to open the door for them, she didn’t know how long she would’ve gone without checking on her husband.
She was pissed. Yamin had been deceiving her the whole time they’d been together and she couldn’t help but wonder if she could love him the same. She knew that Yamin had hard ways, but she’d assumed that he was just pretending like most men. Even the gun charge that he picked up when he was 18 years old hadn’t led her to believe that he was this big time gangster. True, she knew that Yamin had been hiding something, but she never expected him to be the big time boss of a crime organization.
She had been to his car wash, his real estate company, and even saw the layout for a car lot that he was in the process of having done. There was no reason to believe that any of those places had been fronts. Their home was of a normal size, the cars that Yamin drove were nothing fancy, so there wasn’t much to suggest that he was living a life of crime. She never thought that it was anything other than a woman.
“Baby?” Yamin said, startling Jessica. She had been in deep thought wondering what kind of person Yamin really was. The whole time she had been at Donica’s she attempted to get information out of her, but Donica had no idea of what The Versace League was. She had always assumed that Cortez was a drug dealer and made his money off of hustling and Cortez had never told her anything differently.
Jessica wanted to know how far Aasir and Cortez’s involvement went in The Versace League if any. Yamin’s description had been brief in Jamaica only hinting at the fact that robbing banks was something of the past. For some reason she actually believed that she would find some information on Google when she typed it in the search, but of course only designer suits and bags popped up.
“Yo, get this nigga out of here! Get whatever information you can out of him and if he don’t cooperate, murk his ass!” Those words had played through Jessica’s head over and over again. She found herself questioning whether or not Yamin had killed anyone before or were Manny and Emmanuel the only ones that got their hands dirty.
What about all those nights he would sneak out? Was he possibly killing someone then? Jessica shuddered at the mere possibility
