say to him?” Jake’s tone was inquisitive.  I shrugged and blinked innocently.
“He asked why the suitcases, and I asked him if there was such a thing as too many sex toys. Shall we?” I opened the door and walked inside. Leaving Jake on the porch. In shock.  Shaking his head, he walked inside and went up the stairs. I followed behind and noticed he didn’t put my bags in the spare room. I followed him into a larger room with a big bed with wooden posts, and crisp, dark blue sheets.  There was a dresser and what looked like a walk-in closet just before a door I assumed was a bathroom. By one of the two windows there was a sort of cushioned bench and a dog bed on the floor, for Binksie, I was guessing.
“I’m not staying in the other room?” I finally vocalized my confusion. He set the bags down and looked at me.
“Nope, you’re staying with me.” I gasped.
“No way! Being here with you is crazy enough. I don’t really even know you! I’m not sleeping with you. Plus, I snore! And I’m a bed hog. Just ask my best friend, Rayne. I’m the worst. Really, for your safety I should move into the other room.”  He walked closer and I took a few steps back. Was it just me, or was Jake prowling forward making me turn on the water park in my panties? Dammit! When my back hit the wall, I knew I was screwed.
His body pressed up against mine, and before I could stop it, a little mewling sound escaped my lips. I watched as his blue eyes turned darker. Oh God, was he going to kiss me?
“I’ll take my chances. Your perfect ass is cuddling up to me tonight.” He leaned in to kiss my nose and walked out of the room. I sagged against the wall. That man. He did something fierce to me, things I didn’t want to be feeling.  I looked around the room and then to my suitcases. Fine, he wanted me to stay in here with him; I would make myself right at home.
I got to work on unloading my bags and making room in the drawers and closet. I was surprised to see he had cleared some space for me but then I giggled when I saw how little room there was. It was cute, he really must have thought I wouldn’t be bringing too much. As if!
I reorganized his drawers, taking over more than half. And I may or may not have fondled his boxers a bit. Thoughts of him walking around half-naked drifted through my head as I got to work on the closet. After the closet was finished, I went into the bathroom and set up all of my beauty supplies. By the time Jake was calling me down for dinner, I looked around the room and felt at home. Which surprised me. I turned and went downstairs to see what he had made.

Chapter Seven

“Thanks for giving me some space for clothes.” I beamed mischievously. He looked at my face, trying to read my expression.
“I have a feeling things are going to be quite different up there, aren’t they?” He was spot on.
“You can always change your mind.” I fluttered my eyelashes.
“No chance in hell, sweetheart.” He set the table with everything for dinner. It smelled divine.
I walked over to the table just as he was setting down some drinks. If this man was trying to win me over, he was doing a good job of making my stomach Team Wild.  There were alfredo noodles in a big bowl, a yummy looking salad, and garlic bread that was calling my name.
“I didn’t know if you were allergic to shrimp, so I put it on the side.” He set down a smaller bowl full of steamed shrimp next to the pasta.
My stomach growled in anticipation. I quickly sat down and poured myself some of the water with lemon that was set out.
“You really like to make meals, don’t you?” So far he’s gone all out for me with food. I looked up at him, teasing.
“Gotta puff out my chest and show I can provide for my woman.”  I rolled my eyes. Funny guy, that one.
“Looks good,” I commented, as he sat down. Together we loaded up our plates, with shrimp included. I moaned when the noodles hit my tongue.
    “Okay, you win.
