Gentleman but now we can’t get Heiro to help us.” Kerra said.
Zander looked over at her and smiled, “Who said we couldn’t break him out ourselves?” he asked.
Kerra was shocked he had just proposed they break the law. “Are you crazy? They will kill us.” She asked.
“No he isn’t crazy, he’s determined” Kiarra said sneaking up behind them. Zander and Kerra both jumped out of their skin,
“Mom how long have you been there?” Kerra asked.
Kiarra laughed, “Long enough, and Zanders plan isn’t crazy you’ll just have to have a way into the underground holding cell.” Kiarra explained.
“But we don’t have a cardkey to access entry into the door.” Zander sighed.
Kiarra placed a cardkey into Zander’s hand, “Now you do.” She said. The two of them were confused as to why Kerra’s mother was helping them.
“If they find out they will kill you, why are you helping us?” Zander asked.
“Because I know what Vallus means to you and that’s a friendship you should fight for, now get Heiro out and flee the city. Don’t stay a moment longer.” Kiarra said. She had pulled out a scroll and handed it to Kerra. “This is our family’s most powerful technique if you are ever in a tight spot use this, but it may only be used once and then it’s gone.” She explained further.
The both of them nodded, “I will protect her Kiarra, with my life.” Zander said. Kiarra kissed Zander on the forehead and hugged her daughter tightly, turned and walked on home. It was time they were going to get Vallus back but first they needed Heiro’s help so they made their way to the holding cells entrance.
Lieutenant Omak walked into Judge Vallerus’ office, “You wanted to see me sir?” he asked.
“Yes Lieutenant, I have a feeling that Zander and Kerra are going to try to break the prisoner out of the holding cell.” Vallerus said.
Omak laughed, “There only sixteen sir, I’m sure they wouldn’t be stupid enough to come up with a plan like that.” He said.
Vallerus turned and gazed out his large window that had been replaced earlier that morning. “I believe they will receive a helping hand in their plot, I want you to meet down there and bring them to me as for their help I will deal with them later.” Vallerus said.
“Alright sir I will bring them to you alive.” Omak said walking out of the office.
No one knew it yet but Vallerus had quite a few secrets locked away that he didn’t want anyone to find out. For the kingdom he was prepared to eliminate anyone that got in his way.
“Finally were here.” Zander said swiping the card key in the door of the holding cell. They slipped inside undetected, but they had noticed there were no guards at the entrance or anywhere inside.
“This is kind of strange; I haven’t seen a single guard.” Kerra asked.
“Maybe they keep minimal security down here, after all it is pretty hard to get in here.” Zander said. He was right only a judge or high ranking officer had clearance to enter. They made their way down the elevator to the lowest floor where Heiro was being kept. It was a large circular room in which they kept the deadliest criminals. “Look, there it is.” Zander said. Heiro was in the cell on the far end from them,
“Okay let’s get him out.” She said.
Suddenly there was an alarm that blared and the room flashed red. “How did we trip the alarm, we were precise?” Zander asked himself.
“Well, look what we’ve got here.” A voice said. Zander didn’t need to turn to see who it was he swallowed hard and grabbed Kerra’s hand tightly, it was Lieutenant Omak.
Chapter V:
The Unexpected Mystic
“The council had a feeling you would defy orders and try to break the criminal out.” Omak said.
Zander stood in front of Kerra, shielding her, “So you’re here to stop us, is that it?” he asked.
“If I have to bring
