will give you three hours to browse the aisles. Besides I got a meeting with this cat that called me this morning about some work he needs done.”
    “What kind of work?”
“I don’t know. The brother just called and said he was doing an independent film and wanted to know if I could hook him up with some free promo work.”
“Hook him up. Tell that fool we don’t work for free. He called the office?”
“Naw, that fool called the house. I tripped out behind that shit, I told his ass don’t call my home no more. He claims to be Déjà’s brother.” Tyrin said.
    “Who the fuck is Déjà?”
“The last girl I ever fucked around with.”
“Oh, the bitch from New York?”
    “Yeah.”
Craig looked at Tyrin like he wanted to ask him a question, but instead he just turned and looked at the passing traffic. Craig and Tyrin are more like brothers than cousins. At the age of twelve, Tyrins parents and older brother died in a car accident and Craig’s parents took him in. The two have been inseparable every since.
Craig began womanizing at an early age and much to Tyrin’s demise, uses women as pieces of meat. Tyrin was never really into the dating scene until he went off to college and met a few girls, many of which turned out to be gold-diggers or airheads. Déjà was the only one that he thought would have been Ms. Right until she dropped the bomb on him that she was going to Europe for a year to study. Tyrin had no interest at the time in studying abroad, so the relationship fizzled. He came back to L.A, and pursued his dream of owning his own company. In doing that, he proved to himself, as well as his family, that he could make something of his life. His encounters with men were few and far between, and he had one so-called relationship with a guy that only lasted a few short months. After that senseless waste of time he convinced himself that a relationship with a man was totally out of the question and as far as sex, he would stick with women. His walk down heterosexual lane was challenged when Khalil came into his studio with one of his celebrity clients. Tyrin was sexually awakened on sight and had to figure out what it was about this guy that had him so interested.
The two began talking on the phone, not really seeing each other face to face because of their conflicting schedules. Tyrin first thought of Khalil as a gorgeous piece of ass that he couldn’t wait to get inside of. But once Khalil proved to him that he wasn’t down with one night stands, he respected him on another level, one that is hard to find amongst gay men. After nearly a month of trying to arrange a date to meet, their career paths afforded them the opportunity to work together on another project. Once in the physical presence of each other, it was obvious to both of them that this relationship would offer them more than sexual gratification.
“Anyway, I want to get back and see what this clown is really talking about. I need to find out how he got my home number.” He continued.
“Yeah, you need to get to the bottom of that home phone shit. That’s a little suspect.” Craig chuckled still looking at traffic.
“What’s on your mind C? I can tell you thinking about something.”
“Ain’t shit, just waiting for my ride to get here.”
“Don’t lie fool. Spit it out.”
“Man I ain’t got to lie to you, you ain’t nobody. I lie to them bitches.” Craig said as the valet pulled up with his Infiniti. The two hopped and headed to the Century City Mall for some post lunch shopping.
    *****
“Tyrin, there’s a Darion Carson here to see you.” Kim said his phone intercom. “Thanks Kim, give me a few minutes and I will be right out.” He finished responding to an e-mail and made a quick stop in the bathroom, before getting started on this Darion Carson business. He walked through the office and was stopped by one of his interns that had a question in regards to her school schedule, and how she needed less work hours.
