change in his scent and fully registered why my body was so drawn to his, wanted to protect it so badly. He was pregnant, we’d mated.
“Mine?” My voice was barely above a whisper as the reality of it started sinking in.
His smooth forehead puckered as he glowered at me. “Of course it’s yours. I don’t make it a habit of sleeping around with alphas.” Because it was generally known that only an alpha could impregnate a male wolf.
I burst out in laughter as I reached down and pulled him to me. He was stiff in my arms at first, resistant, but then he slowly began to soften and finally nuzzled his face against my chest as I dropped my chin atop his head and inhaled deeply.
“You’re pregnant. With my pups,” I said softly, wonder filling my voice as I held him tighter to me. This wasn’t how I expected it to happen but as joy filled me, I realized that I was glad fate had had other ideas. Even if it hadn’t given me my destined mate, it had given me a wolf I was genuinely fond of and could even grow to love. And the gods knew that our bodies were more than compatible. I felt myself hardening against him and knew that what had landed in my lap was more than I could have hoped for in my situation. “I want you to move in with me.”
I relaxed my hold on him as I felt him push against me and lean back to lock those gray eyes on mine. He frowned and I had the urge to kiss away the lines and then kiss my way down his body. His lithe, little body that was going to steadily grow ripe with our pups in the next five months.
“Move in?” he asked.
I grinned down at him. “It’ll be more convenient that way.”
“Convenient?” he echoed. His voice took on a strange hollow quality as he stiffened in my arms.
“A lot more convenient,” I said as I rocked my hips against his. I was satisfied to find he was as hard as I was. “I want to in my bed, Seth, and I want to be able to take care of you and see to your needs during the pregnancy.”
I watched as his expression softened and he gave me a sweet smile. If I’d been made of ice I would have melted at the potent shyness, heat and happiness all mixed up in the curve of his full lips.
“Okay,” he said softly.
“You’ll move in? Today?”
He laughed and the sound went straight down to my cock before sending a resounding swirl of warmth up to my chest.
“I’m not sure that’s going to be possible. I don’t have much but enough that it’ll take more than an afternoon packing it all up.”
“Just grab the necessities. I can get some other wolves to help with the packing later. The furniture you can leave in the house if you want. I know a couple who are wanting their own place before the she-wolf murders her mother-in-law.” I reached up to smooth a lock of brown hair away from the corner of his eyes. “I want you sharing my bed tonight, little wolf. You’re mine now, no one else’s but mine.”
CHAPTER SEVEN
Seth
I was surprised at the ease with which we settled into our life together. After a kiss that’d curled my toes and straightened my cock, we’d been interrupted by Hayden, one of the six alphas. He’d eyed us speculatively before I’d made my escape with mussed hair and a flushed face, promising to return later when Wyatt demanded the promise from me.
I’d gone back home and picked up the things I knew I’d be needing—my toothbrush, my clothes—those I could have probably left behind to be packed later knowing the rapid rate I was going to start growing very soon. I’d just finished filling up my second duffle bag when Wyatt had appeared on my doorstep. The look in his eyes and the smile he flashed me had me instantly aware that he wasn’t there to help me pack. Or at least that there would be a very long delay before we got to it.
“Shouldn’t we wait until later tonight?” I squeaked as he entered and kicked the door closed behind him. He stalked up to me, backing me towards the wall with every
