side and draped it
around her so that she was swaddled in it, then put one arm behind her back,
and the other behind her knees. He lifted her smoothly, and she remembered that
she loved that he was strong enough to make her feel light, when she most
definitely wasn’t.
    “Here
you go.” Master Sean tucked Sam’s clothes under Master Dan’s arm.
    Master
Dan carried her to the door, and suddenly they were out of the dull, blue-grey
observation room, and into what could have passed for the corridor of a top
hotel. They came to an elevator, and he pressed the button. He looked down at
her, and smiled, his eyes showing a glimmer of concern. “How are you feeling,
sweetheart?” he said, as he stepped into the elevator.
    “A
little shocked, a little sore, a little tired,” she said, and dropped her eyes.
“Happy to be alone with you.”
    She
felt him grin. “Is that so?”
    She
nodded against his shoulder. The door opened, and he carried her out into
another corridor. They passed tasteful vases of flowers and paintings, until
they came to a luxury suite where the door was already open. Master Dan carried
her in, and kicked the door shut behind them.

    “This
is nicer than the other room,” she said, looking around the spacious and
opulent sitting area that led into the bedroom.
    Master
Dan laughed. “That it is. Maybe we’ll sit out here in a little bit, but there’s
something I need to do first.”
    He
grabbed two bottles of water from the minibar and carried her into the bedroom.
The massive bed was stripped of its covers, save for a smooth cotton sheet
covering the mattress. He sat down on the edge, holding her on his lap. He unscrewed
the water bottle, and held it to her lips. She drank gratefully, and knew
better than to attempt to take charge of the bottle herself. When she was
finished, he took her hand and laced his fingers through hers. His eyes were
full of concern.
    “You’re
shaking.”
    “I
know. I thought I was okay, but...” She trailed off as his hand encircled her
wrist, and he took her pulse.
    “You
were restrained and penetrated. I know we’d talked about this on the phone, and
it was a fantasy of yours, but even so, you can’t really know how you’ll react
to something until you experience it, especially something we’re hardwired to
think of as a violation.”
    She
put herself back in that seat, fighting against the doms while he pushed into
her. “It was okay. I trusted you. I knew it was all in play, and that if I
safeworded it would stop.”
    He
nodded. “It would. What you’ve just been through was seriously intense and took
real guts, sweetheart. There were several points where I wouldn’t have been at
all surprised if you safeworded. Looking back, do you think you should have?”
    She
considered. “Maybe. But I wanted to do it.”
    “You
wanted to prove to yourself that you could do it?”
    “Maybe
so. But I wanted it, and I wanted to please you, Sir. And it was a little
easier when you let everyone watch you come. It showed me that you wouldn’t ask
me to do something you weren’t willing to do yourself.”
    He
smiled. “Clever girl. I’m glad you got that.” He hugged her closer. “Sam, I’m
having a great time with you, and I’ll give you whatever you need, but I don’t
want you to push yourself beyond your limits for my sake. Especially with your
history. We can slow down.”
    “Thank
you, Sir, but the PTSD wasn’t a problem, and I wouldn’t push myself for
anyone’s sake but my own.”
    “I
can believe that. You’re stubborn as hell, Samantha Reilly.”
    “You’re
not the first person to tell me that, Sir.”
    “I
bet not.”
    “It
goes with the job,” she said. “Investigative journalism takes no prisoners.”
She smiled, hoping to get away with it, “Unlike doms.”
    He
laughed.
    Relieved
to have gotten away with poking fun at him, she added, “I’m just trying to be
braver these days.”
    “Well,
you’ve certainly accomplished
