wearing down; his red eyes were brimming with tears. He was fighting a battle all on his own.
“You and the MC are all I have, Hunter. Fuck my job, I don’t care anymore- this is us. You and me, that’s all I care about.” My eyes searched his for a reaction, something, anything.
“Oh, now you want it all, don’t you?” Hunter yelled into my face. I’d never seen him like this before.
“I’ve never stopped wanting you! I can’t deny who I really am.”
“Who you want to be,” he corrected me.
    “What?”
“You fucking heard me. You’re a poser, wanna-be, fake, phony, floozy, whatever you want to call it. You’re it, because you’ll never have this life again. I don’t even know how you’re still breathing right now. For what you have done, you should be dead!” Hunter’s voice rose as the grip on my neck got tighter. My face heated as my knees slowly buckled. I clawed at Hunter’s already bloodied hands.
“Baby,” I barely got out as I saw the first tear escape his eye. My legs went out from underneath me; Hunter resumed his position as my body fell to the ground. He straddled my torso, bent on his knees above me, strangling the life out of me. He quickly glanced down at my hands, spotting my wedding ring, and a sob broke through his gritted teeth, and his hands suddenly dropped to the ground. Thank you, Jesus!
I gulped air into my now burning lungs, which put me in a coughing fit. As soon as I made eye contact with Hunter, I cupped his head that was now bowed down, resting on my chest. Slowly, I pulled his heavy head up. Hunter’s face was now full of pain; teardrops fell from his dimpled cheeks, and onto my chest.
“I can’t…I fuckin’ love you too damn much to kill you.” His confession stilled my heart. I didn’t know what to say; all that was left was to do. Gently wiping away the sweat and tears from his face with the bottom of my tank top, I sat up on kitchen floor. Hunter sat back on his haunches, his shoulders rolled forward; the look of defeat was the very definition of how he looked. I knelt up onto my knees in front of him, our kneecaps touching. I was in love with the man who almost just killed me by asphyxiation. I’m fucking fucked.
I know the alcohol played a part in his emotional display, but I’d never seen him like this. Broken. I stroked back his hair, and pulled him up to face me; Hunter now straightened up onto his knees, my head had to tip back so that I could see the man I loved. My eyes roamed his face, first his eyes, then his lips. Hunter was doing the same to me; the tension between us could have been cut with a knife.
“Then don’t…” I trailed off as Hunter’s lips came crashing down onto mine. I pressed my body flush with his. As he groaned I opened my mouth, welcoming him into me. Hunter’s large hands trailed down my back, and cupped my ass. Eager, he lifted me up, and my legs wrapped around his waist. As Hunter held onto me, he pushed off the ground one leg at a time, with me latched onto the front of his body. Stumbling in the hallway, Hunter bumped my back into the wall as he stumbled over fallen picture frames. I tore my mouth away from his as I leaned back and ripped my tank and sports bra over my head.
Growling, Hunter dipped his head down, and latched onto my neck, and made his way down south. I squeezed my thighs together, unable to ignore the zing I felt in my clit. Tingles spread throughout by body. No one could do me like Hunter; he made my body feel things that were unimaginable.
“I need you,” I groaned as I felt his warm lips take hold of my right nipple. I yelped out in pleasure as he bit down on my sensitive bud.
“Hold on, baby, Hunter’s got you,” he soothed me as my hips tried to buck against his. Somehow we made it to our bedroom, our sanctuary.
