Vivi ladled a helping of fruit on her plate and headed back to the shade of the terrace.
Lowering herself to her chair, she sipped the cool water as promised. The last thing she wanted was to get sick from either affliction. And there were too many days left of the shoot to jeopardize it.
“Well, that went well, don’t you think?” John sat down in the chair opposite her.
“I think if you were a straight man I’d have been begging you to do something with your mouth other than smile at me in the pool.”
“Damn, darling, are you telling me you’re horny? Anyone in particular you’re lusting after, as if I didn’t know?” John popped a grape into his mouth and smiled.
Vivi glared at him across the table. “You’re so cute when you’re being a jerk. Anyone ever tell you that before?”
“Practically every day of my life someone says those exact same words to me. Seriously though, what’s stopping you and Santori from hooking up? Nothing I can see from where I stand.”
Vivi shook her head, and then looked around to see where Rafe was. “Not going to happen.”
“Why not? You want the guy and if he’s as smart as I think he is, he wants you too. Who wouldn’t? You’re amazing, and any man would be lucky to have you share his bed.”
“Thanks for the vote of confidence, but I don’t think it’d be a good idea.”
“So you’re telling me you’re not going to do a thing about that past kiss? You’re going to let it ride and possibly miss the best opportunity of your lifetime?”
    Vivi nodded. “Yes.”
“Honey, look around you. We’re in paradise. Take a chance on the brass ring and see where it gets you. If I’m wrong, then what happens in the Caribbean stays in the Caribbean. What have you got to lose?” John speared a piece of watermelon and put it in his mouth.
    How about my heart.
That’s what Vivi was afraid of losing. And Rafe Santori was just the man for the job. Suddenly her Plan B was looking shaky.
Vivi pushed the idea from her head and focused on her lunch.
    Chapter Four
“Okay people, it’s a new day and a new shoot. Work with me on this one. The idea came to me in the night.”
Paulie grabbed the life preserver ring and walked over to Vivi.
“Honey, I want you wearing nothing but those gold panties, the Captain’s hat, this ring and a big smile. Cover your breasts and your hootchie.”
“You’re the boss, Paulie.” Vivi smiled and headed off to change her clothes.
“Don’t you forget it, sweetness. Let’s rock and roll. Turn on that stereo. Get some Carlos Santana on the stereo so we can set the stage for some hotness.”
Within minutes Vivi reappeared in her robe. “Ready, Paulie.”
“Let’s roll.” Paulie handed her the ring and stepped back while she positioned herself at the railing and dropped the robe.
“Work it, Vivi. Show me what you’ve got going on over there. Strut your stuff, that’s it. Entice me, bend over and show me a little cleavage. No titties, just tanned flesh. That’s what I want.”
Vivi did as Paulie asked. She moved one way then the next. Bent over and smiled, leaned back and smiled. All the while her mind was centered on Rafe Santori and what John had said at lunch the previous day.
The only thing stopping her from acting on her plan was her. Looking back up, Vivi smiled once more for the camera. She licked her lips, shifted the life preserver so that you could almost catch a glimpse of her nipple and puckered her lips up to blow a kiss to the camera.
And all the while Vivi knew Rafe was standing at the edge of the shoot watching her every move. Just the thought made her tingle all over. Turning sideways, she made sure he got an up close and personal view of her backside. One of her better features. Especially when wearing practically nothing.
“This next shoot will include Rafe in it as well as yourself, Vivi.”
“What?” She was surprised to hear Rafe would be doing the shot with her. She’d never worked
