this’ is? Yeah, that’s what I’m saying.”
Frustration escalated in his words. Every one of his reactions seemed frank and uncensored.
“He didn’t know who you were. I swear it.” A promise from a man like Jason could be trusted implicitly.

    “And you?” Her eyebrow arched.
“I’ve followed your career for several years,” he admitted.
“What!” Betrayal colored Justin’s outburst. “You knew I wanted her, I’ve been going crazy trying to track her down.”
“Relax.” Though he addressed Justin, Alexa understood he intended his words for both of them. “I didn’t realize she was your woman. I never would have matched her profile with your description.”
“I’m my own woman.” Her face flamed with a mixture of irritation and arousal. She averted her eyes in an attempt to hide the reaction. The four-lane road had given way to a rural street. No pursuers could hide from them here, she could see for miles on the secluded road in either direction. By the looks of the pristine lawns, manicured formal landscaping and winding drives, the neighborhood catered to wealthy residents seeking privacy.
“Amen.” Justin’s rough reply accompanied a soft laugh from the front seat. The temperature climbed a few degrees inside the cabin of the car.
“We made it.” Jason’s announcement couldn’t have come at a better time. It cut off their discussion. Both men focused on scanning the yard in front of the massive stone wall and iron gate as Jason buzzed it open.
He guided the car into the bay in front of them. They stayed in place until the garage door shut, concealing them from outside, then Justin slid his arms beneath her and plucked her from the car. He carried her into the house through the door Jason held for them, their actions so synchronized they appeared choreographed. The brothers moved, working as one, without talking. Justin acted while Jason took care of the details, flicking on lights, turning off the security alarm and heading upstairs to gather supplies. The thick muscles of Justin’s arms secured her to his chest. She gave in to temptation and snuggled close to him, drinking in his body heat and laying her palm over his collarbone.
“You smell like motor oil,” Alexa mumbled against his neck, insanely enticed to lick it.

    “Came straight from work.”
“I love that smell.” She felt, rather than heard, the rumble he made low in his throat. His fingers tightened on her knee and he brushed her forehead with his lips a moment before he deposited her on the marble top of the kitchen island. The stone shocked her, so cold compared to the toasty security of his body. It snapped her from the sensual trance being too near him lulled her into.
She took in the well-appointed cooking area with its stainless steel appliances and large eat-in dining area. For a space so richly designed, it managed to maintain a cozy, welcoming atmosphere.
    “You both live here?”
Justin nodded as he turned on the faucet in the sink beside her. He grabbed a large ceramic bowl from a cabinet behind them. His shoulders rippled and flexed beneath his form fitting T-shirt as he reached up to the top shelf. An answering clench echoed through her abdomen, her body responding to his nearness. The need to touch him, to have him close to her again, grew inside. One thing was certain, the wild attraction they’d shared that day on the side of the road hadn’t been a one time, freak occurrence. No matter how she’d tried to reason it away while falling asleep over the past two weeks, their affair hadn’t been the result of her too long stretch of abstinence, high stress levels or a bout of temporary insanity. He turned her on like no other man.
    Except his brother.
She squashed the stray thought before she could examine it further. Jason strode into the room, first aid kit in one hand and a large fluffy bathrobe draped over a sinewy forearm. Somewhere along the way, he’d gotten rid of the suit
