notebook and pencil, and head towards the unfinished open area. Several ideas come to mind. I definitely want the walls painted a neutral, yet happy color. A good pale yellow would work, but this thin gray carpet would need to be ripped up. Hardwood floors would coordinate perfect with a light yellow tone. The room is big enough to hold at least thirty small round tables, if not more. A bar could be built off one of the back corners, and maybe some registers for the wait staff could be put in a section prior to entering the kitchen. We already have a full waiting staff we use for catering events. Maybe we can offer a few full-time positions and everyone else will stay part-time.
I’m completely lost in my thoughts, because Meagan, our event coordinator, is standing next to me.
    “Good Morning, Giselle.”
“Hey, Meagan. Perfect timing, I could use your help. I spoke with Liam earlier and told him about the meeting yesterday morning with the Hall’s. I want to have their reception here, but there’s a lot of work to be done. We only have three months to get everything done. Do you think it’s possible?”
    “Absolutely, Giselle.”
“I was hoping you would say that. Ok, let’s get to work.”
I go over my notes with her. I begin researching different possible layouts and look up contractors who can do the work. I schedule three appointments for tomorrow to have estimates given. Hours later, I’m mentally exhausted but still working hard on my to-do list. At 6:00, Meagan tells me she’s going home. She explains what she’ll accomplish first thing in the morning. I wish her a good evening.
I linger around the office a little longer then it dawns on me that I was so consumed today I forgot to eat my lunch. While gathering my things and shutting the office down, I hear a knock on the side door. Meagan must have forgotten something, but it’s strange that she didn’t use her key. I open the door and Ethan’s standing on the other side.
    “What are you doing here?”
“I had a feeling you were going to stand me up. I came to get you. Let me in.”
“No, let me get my stuff.”
I shut the door leaving him outside and quickly retrieve my purse. He leans against his motorcycle with helmet in hand. I lock the door.
“You hungry?” he asks as I approach him.
He holds out the helmet for me while examining the cap sleeve button up floral dress that I’m wearing with black tights.
“Do you need to go home and change first?”
Grabbing the helmet from him I state, “No, what’s wrong with my outfit?”
He sighs, “Come on, let’s go.”
I hop on the back and squeeze him tight when the engine roars. We take off into the night, the full moon tagging along behind us. I should have grabbed my black jacket this morning. The weather has grown cool since the sun went down. Hopefully we don’t have much longer to go as the wind is starting to make me chilly.
He turns into Divine’s parking lot and finds a spot not far from the door. He gets off first and then helps me. We’re seated immediately in a dimly lit booth.
He waits for me to slide in first and then takes his seat across from me. He orders us both water with lemon and rum and cokes.
“Easy on the liquor when making hers.” The waitress nods in acceptance and walks to the bar. “I thought we agreed last night was like old times. Don’t you feel the same way?”
Holding my head down, unable to make eye contact, I state, “What we’re doing is wrong, Ethan and it has to stop.”
    “Giselle. Look at me.”
He lifts my chin, now there’s no avoiding his beautiful face.
“All I ask is for one more night and I’ll prove that everything we’re doing is right.”
“I don’t know. I’m torn and I know better. I want you, but how do I know you won’t hurt me again?”
“Take a chance and trust me.”
I close my eyes and whisper, “Okay.”
It’s always been hard to say no to him. Soon the waitress delivers the drinks and Ethan
