not surprised.
“What?” Jeff asked looking at her and then him.
“She said how can you tell— ” Kurt said.
“I heard what she said man, why is she?” Jeff looked at her. “Why are you asking us about down-low? Do you know what that means?” he whispered.
    Faye bowed her head.
“Yes.” Lena returned Jeff's glare. “Obviously, I’m asking because I want to know. How can I tell if a man has a male friend whom he gets benefits from? A down-low man. Do you know?” She looked at Jeff and then him. Her eyes sent a challenge that had nothing to do with the amount of alcohol she'd drunk.
“No,” Kurt said slowly, watching her. “I don't know anyone on the down-low.” He smiled, more teeth than anything else. If she’d known him better, she would’ve realized the challenge she’d just made to his manhood. It took everything to another level. “Do you think I'm on the down-low?" he murmured.
Lena shrugged and took a sip of her drink.
Faye jumped up, dragging a surprised Jeff to the dance floor.
Kurt moved closer, crowding her. He didn’t know what happened in her past to make her question his motives or sexuality. None of that mattered now. He planned to fuck her before the end of the night. Getting into a heated discussion about something he couldn't prove didn't mesh with his plans for tonight. They'd discuss it later. His lips grazed her forehead.
“You smell delicious. I want to taste you.” His eyes turned serious. “I know you're not ready for a full-fledged relationship right now with the divorce pending.” He waited a beat, hoping she’d correct him. She didn’t. That was a good thing, right? He pushed away the contradictory thought.
His finger touched her bottom lip, appreciating the shiver that went through her. “No games, no lies, no one else.”
Her eyes widened. “I'm not ready to commit to you like that,” she protested, her voice shaky as she pulled away. “I'm not going to promise not to date other men.”
He chuckled. “Can't blame a man for trying.” He'd just make sure she had no energy for anyone else. As far as he was concerned, Lena Pace was his until he was ready to move on. He'd give her the space she asked for, but he knew she wasn't the fooling around type.
“Spend time with me, okay?” He waited for her agreement.
“Just dating?” She looked at him, eyes wary.
Kurt bent forward and spoke into her ear. “I want to make love with you as well as go out to breakfast, lunch, or dinner, or take in a movie.” He didn't back down; she needed to understand he wasn't going to play that game. If they spent time together, he'd have her on her back, knees, or stomach so fast, she'd forget her name.
“You only want to have sex with me?” Her nose scrunched as she gazed at him.
“That and more.” He nodded. “Don't you want to have sex with me?” He waited to see if she'd be honest.
“Maybe,” she whispered. He moved closer and kissed her, groaning at her sweet taste. Her lips were soft and juicy. He nibbled before wrestling with her tongue again.
“Hmmmm,” she murmured. Her small noises excited him.
    “How long?”
    “Huh?” she asked dazed.
“How long do we stay here?” He kissed her again before she answered, spending extra time on her upper lip, teasing it with his teeth.
“A little longer. Do you work in the morning?”
He grinned. “Why? Got something wickedly wild in mind?” She looked down. He chuckled, tilted her face upward by placing a finger beneath her chin. “Nope, I'm the boss remember? I may go in later, but my morning's free.”
She laughed and tugged his hair. They sat forehead to forehead talking.
“Hi, Kurt.” The strident voice had them moving apart. Kurt glared, and Lena looked quizzically at the woman he least wanted to see. He squeezed her hand and returned his gaze to her.
“Baby, this is the ex factor I told you about the other day.” He made a face and tickled her palm. Lena smiled.
    “What the hell is so
