Jana shook her head. It was true. Lisa had been the only one in her life who had tried to protect her against her foster father. She had been there through every step of Jana’s recovery in the hospital and even afterward following her to California to make sure that Jana was settled.
When Jana needed Lisa she was there. “But—”
“No buts.” Lisa narrowed her sights on Jana. “All I want to do is break down some of those walls you’ve erected. What I’m asking of you may sound unconventional, but just trust me.” She pulled Jana’s chair back to the table. “Now come back here and sit down.”
Jana took a step toward the table. “I don’t see how any of this—”
Lisa pressed her index finger to her lips. “Shhh… Come sit down.
    Trust me.”
Why Jana conceded she’d never know, other than she did trust Lisa more than she trusted herself. There was something about Lisa—
something about their friendship she never wanted to lose. Besides, it wasn’t like she hadn’t seen Lisa naked. Last night she’d seen both Lisa and Nicolas in an intimate position. If she was being honest with herself, it had been damn arousing.
    Quietly, Jana took a seat.
When Lisa and Nicolas locked gazes Jana ceased to exist, she had no presence in the room. She could slip through the door and never be missed. The pair had mentally erased her from the kitchen. Hell, by the looks they gave each other they had erased her from the planet. The knowledge didn’t do much for a girl’s confidence.
Or had she just become the invisible woman? She raised her hand before her eyes. Nope. Not invisible.
Nicolas extended his hand to Lisa and assisted her to her feet. Their bodies came together, as they wrapped their arms around each other.
His long fingers curled in the back of her dress, wadding the material so it rose and revealed the swell of her ass and a hint of a lacy thong beneath.
Again he captured her mouth, but this time it was a real kiss, deep and demanding, one that took Jana’s breath away and left her wanting.

Her mouth began to water. Her lips quivered with need. The beat of the music echoed in her head.
With a slow caress he moved his hand up Lisa’s back, raising her dress higher, revealing more perfect skin, before his fingers curled at the nape of her neck, winding through her hair as he pulled, forcing her head back. Then he pressed his mouth to the arch of her neck.
Lisa’s lips parted on a gasp.
Jana’s heart slammed against her ribcage.
She’d give anything to be kissed like that.
When Lisa and Nicolas finally parted Jana felt her chest rise and fall with excitement. Damn, she hadn’t known watching lovers interact would be so heady, so arousing. Thank God Lisa had persuaded her to stay.
Without a word Lisa floated across the room until she stood in the middle of the kitchen, then her body began to sway to the music. With the toe of one foot she slipped one sandal off and then the other. She kicked them out of the way and they made a swishing noise as they slid across the polished tile. The entire time her brown eyes were glued to Nicolas’s.
Silently he moved around the table and took a seat beside Jana.
“Eat,” he said, continuing to stare at Lisa as he picked up his fork.
It was a demand, not a suggestion.
    But who could eat?
Lisa was seductively moving her palms over her shoulders, then dragging them across her breasts, circling them and weighing them in her hands, before she stroked down her abdomen and thighs to the hem of the dress.
Jana was mesmerized by her friend’s sexuality and further astounded by how Lisa was affecting her. A naughty smile slid across her friend’s lips. Every so often she slid her tongue over them, invitingly.
Eyes focused on Nicolas, Lisa began to sing along with the
