spilled.”
She giggled, making Leo moan as he slipped free of her as well. “I like your messes, baby.”
“Suck up,” Garrett smiled. “You’re just saying that.”
She turned to Leo, but he’d already started moving. Before she could say a word, he’d vanished into the bathroom, the door slamming shut behind him.
Garrett glanced over as the door shut. “You okay? We didn’t hurt you, did we?”
She shook her head. “That was amazing.”
“Good, because I think Leo’s going to want to do that again now that he’s had a taste of you.”
Though he was smiling, Brianna saw the way he glanced back at the bathroom door. Leo had disappeared quickly, and she knew it had to do with Garrett. Something had changed the dynamics between them, and it had happened before she’d gotten out of the shower. That wasn’t the exit of a man who’d just had mind-blazing sex. It was one of a man who was ashamed of himself.
Chapter Four
Garrett cleaned up a little in the bedroom, and tucked Brianna into the bed for a nap. It wasn’t late, but it had been a long day. Hours-long car ride, spur of the moment sex on the side of the road, threesome with his best friend… It took its toll on her.
She wasn’t conscious for long. As soon as she’d fallen asleep, he headed for the kitchen. Leo was already dressed in sweatpants that rode low on his hips. He’d probably snuck out the other door in the bathroom. He faced away from Garrett, working on something in the kitchen as he approached.
The living room lights were turned off, the glow of multi-colored Christmas lights illuminating the room in a warm, wintery atmosphere. The Christmas tree was framed by the bay window, which had a perfect view of snow falling. Garrett was glad they’d not taken longer. The snow was getting heavier.
“What are you doing?”
“Making eggs.” Leo didn’t look up. “I thought our naughty girl in there might be hungry after all that.”
Garrett leaned against the counter and crossed his arms. “Yeah?”
“Yeah,” he replied. It was a cold, matter-of-fact way to say it. Garrett wasn’t sure whether to kiss him or strangle the man.
“Brianna’s taking a nap,” Garrett told him. The whisk seemed to slow, just a little bit before picking up the rhythm again.
Silence passed between them, broken only by the scrape of the metal whisk against the ceramic bowl, and the gentle slosh of the eggs. Leo was stubborn, not willing to break the silence first, but Garrett had the crown on stubbornness. He could wait him out if he had to. He just didn’t like it. This was Leo.
Leo set the bowl down and turned to face Garrett, his expression unreadable. “Did you tell her about us? Is that why the ambush in the bedroom?”
“No,” he said and straightened up. This wasn’t the conversation he wanted to have, even though he’d known it would be inevitable once they brought Leo into their relationship. Still, talking about the past was something Garrett tried to avoid. They had been young.
“So, she came up with this threesome idea herself?” He asked, watching Garrett closely.
Garrett felt like he had just been put under a microscope. “Yes. She knew we shared before. We were upfront about our sexual pasts. We got started talking one night, and she admitted she found you attractive.” He cleared his throat. He was afraid to tell her everything, that he and Leo had been exclusive at one point. Both of them liked women, but they’d loved each other. Until he’d gotten scared. Until Leo had gotten drafted by the Highlanders. Until their relationship could have destroyed everything they’d built. Until he found Brianna.
What if she didn’t like the idea though? Or worse, didn’t love him anymore because of his past relationship with Leo? Not every woman got on well with the idea that their husband had fucked a man before, let alone had an exclusive relationship with one.
“And?”
“So I told her we’d done
