Just Desserts
leaned close—face-to-face. “You son of a bitch. You made an offer already, didn’t you? That ‘party planning and catering’ was a load of crap, wasn’t it?”
Quinn deliberated. He took a deep breath, bore down and faced her sultry eyes. “If I’ve spoken to your father about purchasing the diner, it’s a deal between us. He’ll need to give you that information. I’m not in any position to discuss the details.”
“You are…” She gulped down her insult and slapped his cheek.
Astonished at how her slender fingers could cause such a zinger, he clutched her hand in a careful restraint. He shifted closer toward her and pressed his other hand down on her knee. He inhaled a delicious mix of berries and dipped down to brush his lips across her bare shoulder for a taste. Like a starving madman, he had to try more.
    Just this once.
She sucked in her breath, but didn’t move away from him.
He couldn’t chance losing control so he didn’t dare look into her incredible eyes. If she invited him, then he’d still get the diner without acrimony. No harm, no foul.
Stealthily, he leaned down and licked the soft bit of her breasts spilling over the top edge of her dress. He bit the crinkled fabric and tugged it down, exposing her breasts. His breath caught in the back of his throat, when her nipples—full and swollen—popped free.
Quinn waited. He wanted Sadie to slap him again. Or bolt off the bench and call him a pig, or some other appropriate expletive. He knew he deserved it.
Instead, she cupped his cheeks with her delicate hands and raised his face to hers.
A storm brewed beneath her cinnamon lashes. He couldn’t resist and headed into the hurricane. Sadie’s passion possessed him.

Chapter Five

Sadie’s fingers trembled. She tentatively caressed Quinn’s jaw and gazed into his eyes. Silvery speckles danced about in his blue irises.
In the stifling heat of the kitchen, she forgot about cookies and the diner. She wanted him to touch her. To continue where he’d left off earlier that day, when his fingers grazed her thigh at the market. “Ah, it’s a little warm in here. I can—”
“Don’t.” He buried his head into her neck and shoulder and trailed kisses along her collarbone. “Tell me to stop now if you don’t want me to go on, Sadie.”
Her bared breasts tingled, and began to ache. She arched her back, leaned closer, and let her nipples graze against the soft fabric of his T-shirt. “So if I can’t stand the heat I should get out of the kitchen?”
The corner of his mouth turned up a smidge, and he grinned. She wanted to taste the freckles that dappled around his lips.
Combing her fingers through his cropped hair, she playfully licked his earlobe. “I’m not going anywhere.”
He let out a soft sigh.
    “Is that relief I hear?”
“Yes, but this is only the start.” He held her hand and licked bits of rock sugar off her fingertips. “I’m staying, until you’re satisfied.”
Her heart pounded so hard, she fidgeted. He desired her and wanted to fulfill her needs first? She wrapped her legs around his hips and locked them together behind his back to steady her butt on the bench and trap him. “Okay then. You better take me for a ride I’ll never forget.”
Laughing, he dropped his head into her chest and growled. He slipped his hand under her dress, and his fingers glided along her silk boxers. Suddenly he popped up to face her. “I expected lace, thought about leather, but boxers? Your ride just shifted into overdrive, beautiful.”
She laughed, expecting him to kiss her. Instead he plunged back down into her cleavage and kissed her breasts lightly, then bit one nipple and licked.
The sting sent a ripple of pleasure through her.
He drizzled kisses from one breast to the other. “You taste delicious. Like cherries.”
She lay back on the bench. Drops of moisture dripped down her ribcage as he licked and nipped her breasts. Tugging the dress further below her
