Hell's Revenge
to shame and which made me wish for another table cloth to cover her up with.
“What the fuck?” I finally managed to say. Eloquence, ever my enemy.
Nefertiti smiled, a slow, sensuous thing that made her large doe like eyes glow.
“When I work at the castle, I don’t like others to be distracted, so I wear my true age. But at home, with my lovers, I prefer to revert back to my youth.”

“It’s a good look. But could you put some clothes on.” Nefertiti laughed. “Considering whose daughter you are and the type of magic we share, you’re awfully prudish.”
I just glared at her and tapped my foot.
Nefertiti snapped her fingers and the half-naked dude who’d answered the door came running to drape a silken robe around her lush body, hiding her assets. As for my men who’d stared at her instead of poking out their own eyes? I stomped on Auric’s foot and kicked David in the shin.
    I’d punish them more later.
Robe belted, Nefertiti turned and with a wiggle that made me glower at my men in warning, led us to a table being hastily set by the fountain.
We sat down and I opened my mouth to speak, but a sharp look from our hostess made me snap it shut. She poured out some hot liquid which I prayed was tea into some fine china cups and then offered us a platter of desserts which I took without protest. I had a sweet tooth and biting into the creamy confection, I almost swooned.
    “That’s good,” I moaned.
“It should be. Frederick makes them from scratch with the freshest blend of cream .” The way she said cream made me choke and I gulped down the hot tea laced with some kind of mint undertone.
Nefertiti laughed as I scowled at her through watering eyes.
“Ah, Muriel. You are so entertaining. The cream you fear would never be wasted on guests.”
I refused to feel sheepish but I did allow relief to loosen the tension in my shoulders.
“Can we cut out the bullshit? I need some help.”
“How obvious. Did you need some more tips on creating potent magic? I can tell just by looking at you that you’ve yet to allow your men to truly fuck you. Why do you hesitate?”
I knew what she spoke of. A true sandwich where one got my pussy and the other my ass. Call me old fashioned, but in my book, asses were out holes, not in. “Our sex life is doing perfectly fine, thank you. I’m here about something else. My mother showed up and she kind of dropped a bomb.”
“Your mother?” Neferiti nodded. “Yes, your father mentioned it when he called. He also told me that this Gaia person claimed you were pregnant by both your lovers.”
“That’s impossible, right?” My anxiety sounded crystal clear even to me.
“Auric. David. Please leave me alone with Muriel for a moment.” I really expected Auric to tell her in no certain terms, no fucking way. But as if under a spell, he and David both stood. At my panicked look, Auric leaned down and brushed my lips. “I won’t be far.”
I wanted to scream at him to come back and hold my hand, but that would be admitting I feared the truth. I am not scared of anything. Anymore that is. Now that the curse that had made me live in terror was gone, I’d promised myself to face life head on, whether I liked it or not.
Annoyed, I drummed my fingers on the table. “Care to tell me why you had to make them leave before you tell me what the fuck is going on?”
“First off, I need to examine you. Stand, please, and lift your shirt.” I arched a brow.

Nefertiti sighed and snapped her fingers. A curtain rose up around us, not a fabric one, more of a swirling mist, but it served as a privacy barrier. I stood and raised my shirt. The witch walked around me while I stared up at the ceiling feeling like an idiot. I flinched when she placed her hands on my abdomen, not out of fear but because they were like freaking ice cubes.
“Holy fuck! Wear some gloves next time, would you?” Nefertiti just clucked her tongue and continued to grope my tummy. Her hands slid up
