Corseted beauties wandered around, showing as much flesh as the dress code allowed. The music was already pumping, and the dance floor was full. A large crowd mingled around the bar, and patrons were taking their seats, ready for one of the first live performances of the evening.
“Have you seen anything that interests you so far tonight, brother?” Daniel asked as they walked up the stairs.
“Yes, actually I did, but you made me leave her sitting at the café around the corner.” Christian smiled at his brother. “What about you, anyone stirred your loins?”
“Yes, but I left her sitting at the café around the corner.” Daniel laughed.
As both men entered the club room, its occupants erupted with cheers and calls of “Welcome home.” Kathy, Steve, and Christian had managed to gather around fifty guests.

Daniel was sure he wouldn’t know half of the people there. After all, it had been five years, and he was never really the social one. Christian took that role. Still, there were some familiar faces. Debbie and her sub, Chrissie, were nurses from the hospital, as were Stephan and Mark. All four had been in the scene for many years and had joined the health service around the same time Daniel had taken up his initial position at the hospital. Daniel found that having colleagues at work that understood and accepted his Dominance was a bonus. Like-minded people tended to get a job done much more efficiently than those who had nothing in common. Bruce and Dean were also there. They had gone to university together and still kept in touch with Daniel and Christian. Both men had very young women accompany them. Daniel wondered if both girls were more than twenty years old, and he knew both men were double that in age. He never understood the Dom who went for the young subs. Daniel saw the whole this sub could be my daughter scenario as a reflection of insecurity in the Dominant who sought them out. To Daniel’s mind, maturity offered a submissive woman great benefits. They were usually levelheaded, experienced in both life and sexual practice. Most importantly, they had made a conscious decision in regard to the role they played in the D/s relationship. Daniel preferred substance over flash and giggle any day.
There were friends from the old days of the club, people that had played a major role in the brothers’ social life when they lived in the inner city. Quite a few new faces scattered the crowd, and as Daniel soon discovered, these unknown faces were the new Doms or subs of the invited guests. He was reassured to know it wasn’t just Christian and himself that found it difficult to find their elusive mate. Although he suspected their perfect love may still be drinking coffee at the café around the corner with another man. Daniel frowned at the thought of her with someone else. He wondered whether Christian was still thinking about the woman and if the fact she was with the waiter bothered his brother as much as it was bothering him.
Daniel was pleased that the party was a big hit. Instead of the dance music that pumped downstairs, Steve had ensured all the classic rock songs that he and the brothers had grown up listening to were played. There was an abundance of alcohol and nibbles served on large silver trays by staff in skimpy butler and French maid outfits. The conversation in the room never dulled, with no awkward silences indicating people were just waiting to leave. And for a change, the alcohol didn’t seem to be making anyone disagreeable, forcing people into those unpleasant altercations that ended in regret the next day. After all, a room full of Doms without alcohol could turn into a brawl. Daniel knew that all too well. His friend Steve used to be one of the Doms that often started the brawls, but now that Steve had Kathy in his life he had become a little more subdued. Kathy had done a wonderful job organising things. She had even included some of her single submissive friends on the
