road for fear she was only a vision who would simply disappear if he turned away.
“Christian, are you with us?” He heard Steve’s voice and turned briefly to see his friend take Kathy by the arm and begin to walk off down the street.
    “Yep,” Christian answered vacantly.
“Oh, he’s looking at the most beautiful woman in the world.” Christian turned to look at the girl who had spoken. He didn’t like the hint of sarcasm in her tone. “We had dinner over there. The reservation sign on the table said ‘reserved for the most beautiful woman in the world.’ Then she showed up.”
As their friends wandered away, following Steve and Kathy in the direction of The Dungeon, Daniel walked over and stood next to Christian. “Well, the reservation sign didn’t appear to lie,” he said quietly. “But, as much as I hate to say it, we need to go.”
“Let’s go over and invite her,” Christian said. “She looks like she’s on her own.”
The words had no sooner exited Christian’s mouth when a café worker walked over, kissed her on the head, and sat down on the opposite side of the table. As her face lit up with delight, Christian’s heart sank.
“Maybe not,” Daniel said. “Come on, we have a party to get to.”
The Dungeon was quite full when they arrived. Christian and Daniel were greeted warmly by three burly bouncers, who stood guarding the door before being directed upstairs to the Club room. The bouncers not only ensured numbers within the club never exceeded the registered fire code limit, but they also ensured that only the appropriately dressed were allowed to enter. Being an exclusive BDSM club and one of the oldest in the city, the management of The Dungeon had a strict dress and behaviour code for the venue. Patrons were asked to dress in Fetish-style clothing, leather or black evening attire only. Some seminudity was permitted but only within the club, not upon entry. The nudity usually only entailed the baring of breasts or a submissive bottom for spanking or caning. This was not a venue for people to just come and gawk. The owners were very strict about the club not turning into a circus event for curious outsiders. Non-Fetish patrons were restricted, only allowed in if they accompanied someone from the Kink community and complied with the dress code. The club had been specifically designed for those living a BDSM, Kink, or Fetish lifestyle. It was a place where you could go and be yourself, a bit of a haven from the wider vanilla community. At The Dungeon, outside judgements were left at the door.
The club had originally been an old, rambling home that sat on the outskirts of the city. However, with urban sprawl and expansion, the premises were now located in the centre of the red-light district. The owner had purchased the home many years ago and had renovated it magnificently. The main downstairs area housed a huge bar, a dance floor, and live performance areas. Open cubicles lined the side walls with areas for public play such as floggings or caning. A stream of naughty subs was disciplined in these areas throughout an evening. An ornate stairwell took patrons upstairs to the Private Club Room, which had an overview of the activities in the club’s public area through a soundproof glass wall which ran along the length of the room. Private play rooms for patrons not wanting to show off their skills to everyone were also located on the second floor, as was the Sub Drop Bar. The Drop Bar, as it was more commonly called, was a quiet area for patrons to escape the hustle of downstairs. Soft music and a subdued atmosphere allowed people to get to know each other without having to scream to be heard. The city lights, visible through the floor-to-ceiling windows at the end of the lounge and from the veranda area, added to the quiet and relaxed atmosphere.
Daniel and Christian headed toward the stairs with their friends, checking out what the night had brought out in the way of lovely subs.
