responsible on why the Rhynians are on the brink of extinction.”
Cor’s expression stilled and grew serious. Contempt was evident on his handsome face. “They attacked our planet and killed most of us. Especially the children and women.”
    “Oh, my God.”
“They’d tried to wipe us out, but we fought back. Still we suffered an unimaginable loss. The children and women…they were the Orkinians targets.”
Nikka couldn’t imagine their loss. She had lost her parents from a car accident when she was just fifteen. She wouldn’t want anyone to go through that. But Cor…to lose his entire race. “I’m sorry. Why would they do that?”
“They lack sunshine. They have more days of darkness than light.”
“Is that why the Orkinians that attacked us looked so pale?”
“That and they’re naturally born ugly.”
Nikka smiled. With her free hand, she reached up and combed back Cor’s silky hair. She loved that the ends curled a bit. So sexy. She sighed. Somehow she already knew the answer to her question, but she asked anyway. “The one Orkian. He said he’s going to kill me.”
“No one’s going to kill you. Not while I’m alive, baby.”
“Good to know. I can’t imagine getting killed by someone I can’t even pronounce the name. Cor, they know why you’re here on earth, right? And the one who trashed my shop thinks that you found your match, did he?”
Cor nodded. “I’m sorry, love. I didn’t mean to put you in danger, but showing you my power was my only hope to make you believe me. I didn’t want to go back across the street, sit on the chair, and watch you from there. So I did what I thought would help me. It was a selfish act.”
    “We survived. It’s okay.”
“It was my father and the council leaders’ idea that we come here. We studied Earth and its people. There was no better place than here to find our mate. They were right to send us here. Kyr found Jade and now I found you.”
“You really believe that I’m your match.”
“You are my match. I wouldn’t turn green if you weren’t.” Cor spread Nikka’s legs and stood in between, running his hands up along the length of her thighs. “I need your help, at’vi.”
“To breed. To have your babies.”
Cor winced. “The way you said it, didn’t sound right, but there is no other way to say it. Baby, I wouldn’t force you to do anything if it is against your will.”
“What would you do then if I say no ?”
“First, I’ll try to convince you to go out with me, pursue you romantically until you fall head over heels in love with me. Not just half in love. If, after all that, you still refuse me, then I’ll go back to Rhyn.”
“You won’t look for another woman?”
“No. Not after finding you.” Cor’s hands made it inside her shirt, gently kneading her sides.
“Why do you have to go back to Rhyn if there is fighting going on? Can’t you just stay here with your match?”
“We are supposed to go back. Report to my father and tell him about you.”
Nikka felt Cor’s hands on her back seconds before her bra loosened. He unhooked her. Oh, dear. “So, say I agreed to be your match. We got pregnant. You’re just going to leave me?”
“But I’ll be back, love. I’ll be your husband in every sense.” His mouth covered hers the same time he cupped her breasts.
Nikka lost her train of thoughts.
Cor’s mouth was warm and tasted like mint of something uniquely him. Each time he opened his mouth to meet with hers, she could feel his tongue darting in and out. Although she could tell that he was seething with desire to make love with her, his kiss was slow, gentle, and easy as if he was testing her mouth. Oh, God. He was driving her crazy. She wanted his deep kiss, for him to plunge his tongue inside her mouth, but he continued to give her his short erotic kisses that quickly warmed her up. Lord, did they have a School of Making Out on Rhyn?
    Honestly, he could kiss!
Cor left her mouth to kiss her
