coffee shop.  So far this town seemed to be very laid back and accepting, which would certainly help this mission. Hopefully we would have very little questioning of our actions and sudden appearance.
"What'd ya think?" Gray came up to the table with an expectant look.
"It was great. You all are awesome. I really loved the first song." He had a goofy lopsided grin. I still wasn't sure what was so special about him that he needed saving, but it wasn't my place to judge.
"Thanks. Hannah told me that she asked you to join us tomorrow. It's gonna be epic for sure! If you'll excuse me, I need to get ready for the next set."

"Hadraniel! Hurry up. We need to be meeting the group at the coffee shop in thirty minutes." I hollered up as I was making breakfast.
"I found swimming trunks, but do I need anything else?"
"A towel for sure, a shirt is up to you. I have a dress that goes over my swimsuit." I loved the clothes of this era. However the swimsuits are a lot more revealing than I'm used to. I had a two piece packed too but wasn't brave enough to wear it. I went with a deep purple suit that had a silver buckle on the neck and the sides cut out. I hadn't been swimming in a quarry before but I was guessing it would be similar to that of a lake or pond. Hadraniel came down carrying towels for both of us.
"I'm ready if you are, I'll just grab some toast to eat on the way."
"Sounds good to me." I replied. Having someone constantly around wasn't as annoying as I had expected. He proved to be good with following the timeline that I wanted, as opposed to pushing one of his own.
The walk into town was quiet. It was still rather early in the day. Last night, I’d spent time studying the map provided for us that showed where the damage would occur. I was saddened to know this beautiful area would be gone in no time.  The area was lush and green. The smell of earth was clean and refreshing. Soon it would be destroyed and replaced with water. These parts of my jobs left me feeling blessed but sad at the same time. I would be the last to really appreciate the beauty of nature in this place, knowing no one would see it again.
Each of my missions have been special for different reasons but I did have my favorites. This mission currently was creeping into my top five. My number one to date was Pompeii. Although it was one of the most destructive missions it was still special because it was my first.
    "You're very quiet this morning."
Hadraniel's statement brought me back to the reality that I was not going to be the only one to enjoy the last of this beautiful location this time around.
"Sorry. I was just thinking how sad it will be that in a few weeks this place will not be here."
"That is sad. I figured you were used to that though. You've always seemed so level about your job." It wasn't a false statement but it stung a little.
"My job does require some distancing. That does not mean that I don't feel something. I appreciate the feelings that others have about these missions as well. To survive though and be able to keep myself sane, I have to remain detached. This mission is completely different than my others. I normally don't interact with my target until almost the very end and never with help or mandatory involvement of a demon."
Had seemed pensive as he listened to me talk. He was very attentive to whomever he was conversing with, even when home. Aniston had good taste when it came to crushes. He was kind and sweet. I hoped he reciprocated her feelings. They would make a good couple when the time came.
"Has working with me been so awful for you?"
"Nah, you're not so bad." I smirked at his scowl. "For real Had, it's been different, but not bad. I enjoy your company and you have had some wonderful ideas. Plus your good looks may have helped us with the in-crowd." Pink shot across his face with my compliment.
