Purgatory.” Maggie
shrugged, pushing her curls back over her ears. “I’m really excited
that ye figured it out, I actually really wanted to tell ye. But
everything says not to, and it was killing me to keep it in all
day!”
“Next time just tell me!” Thalia laughed, climbing off the bed to
stand by James.
“Well, remember this the next time it takes you six hours to call
us with news. Like when ye two decided to actually admit ye loved
each other and all that. We were sitting here in suspense most of
the day!” Maggie gave her a look that challenged her to argue, but
Thalia didn’t even bother.
“We’re just so happy for you guys.” Thalia couldn’t stop smiling,
and she laughed when Kalen scooped Maggie off the bed, holding her
in his arms. He leaned down and kissed her and it was clear they’d
be amazing, if not very unique, parents. That kid would never want
for love, and it would probably have more adopted aunts and uncles
than it could handle.
“We love ye both, and we would have told ye
as soon as we hit twelve weeks.” Kalen shrugged, looking down at
Maggie with a warm grin. “And I’m going to spoil her rotten while
she lets me.”
Maggie yawned again and Thalia followed suit.
“It’s time for bed, we can talk more at breakfast. I’m sure the
girls will talk for hours about it tomorrow.” James interlaced his
fingers with Thalia’s, tugging her towards the door.
Kalen nodded, tucking Maggie under his chin as she leaned against
him. “Have a good night, we’ll see ye both in the morning.” James
was pulling her through the doorway when Kalen spoke up again,
“Hey! One more thing.”
“Yeah?” Thalia asked.
“Happy Christmas.” He grinned, and they all said it back as they
wandered, exhausted, to their rooms. It was a very happy,
merry, wonderful, brilliant Christmas.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Jennifer Bene is a writer of adult
/ erotic fiction. Her writing has been described by readers as
"dark in a way that turns you on", and she definitely takes that as
a compliment! She has a terrible mouth that often gets her in
trouble, but it comes in handy when she's writing. She loves to
write strong female characters and dominant male characters in
stories that take readers for a walk on the dark side.
When she's not
attached to a keyboard, she likes to read, drink wine, do yoga,
binge on Netflix, and enjoy life with friends/family. She lives in
Texas, and no, she doesn't own a horse or wear a cowboy hat, you'd
have better luck finding her on the dance floor downtown.
Seriously.
Jennifer would love to hear from you! She does
her best to keep readers up to date via social media, and tries to
