âAâight, when and where?â
âThe Toys âRâ Us across the street from Crossroads Mall. Be there in thirty minutes.â
âGotcha.â After putting their bags inside of the car Flamboyant told Shayla, âBabe, I got to make a stop and take care of some business real quick. Do you want to ride with me, or do you want me to take you home first?â
âWhere do you have to go, Marco?â
âOut south.â
She sighed heavily and asked, âHow long is this stop going to take? Iâm hungry.â
âNot long at all. I have to meet somebody real quick and then we can go get something to eat out that way. You know you love some Pearlâs, so letâs hit Pearlâs on the south side.â
âHumph. Pearlâs on the north is better, but I guess I can make an exception; this time. Come on, letâs go get this over with.â
He leaned over and gave his woman a kiss on the cheek and said, âThanks, babe.â He then quickly sped out of the mallâs parking lot and got onto the highway headed toward the south side. He had some money to drop off and some drugs to pick up. Once again itâs on.
Chapter Three
The block was jumping and the squad seemed to have everything well under control, King thought as he watched everyone on the block making that money. He pulled out his cell and called his childrenâs mother. When Lawanda answered the phone he said, âWhat it do, girl?â
âGirl? Nigga, now you know itâs nothinâ but a grown-ass woman youâre talkinâ to. Where yoâ ass at?â
âOn the block.â
âShouldâve known. Are you coming through or are you hanginâ out with that dyke bitch killa of yours?â
âGone witâ that shit, L. Tippi donât even get down like that. Why canât you cut my girl some slack? She donât have shit against you.â
Lawanda laughed and said, âNigga, if you believe that shit then youâre not as smart as I thought you were. Anyway, are you cominâ through or what?â
âYeah, Iâll be through there later on.â
âWhat time? I want to be ready when you get here.â
âReady for what?â he asked with a smile on his face because he knew the type of answer he was about to receive.
âReady for some of that big olâ dick of yours.â
He laughed and said, âI should be there between eleven and twelve.â
âThatâs good; the kids will have been long asleep by then. You better go see Dr. Bombay and get you some of those last-long pills.â
âSee who? For some what?â
âWhoever be sellinâ them Viagra pills or whatever else they be callinâ them pills that keeps your thang hard all night.â
âNow, what the fuck am I goinâ to need some shit like that for?â
She laughed and said, ââCause when your ass gets over here me gonâ love you long time! Bye, nigga,â Lawanda said as she hung up the phone.
King shook his head from side to side as he put his phone back into his pocket and went across the street where Flex and Tippi were talking. âWhatâs good?â he asked them as he made it to where they were standing.
âThe same old shit over here, my nigga,â answered Flex.
âIt looks like itâs time to make some more shit happen over here. You make that call yet?â asked Tippi.
âYeah, but I wonât be able to hook up until the morning. Check with that nigga Keko and see if he still has some work left. If he does, go get a bird or whatever he can spare and bring it over here for the block. Iâll hit up Cuddy and Boleg to see if they have anything left. If so, that should last until I can get us hooked back up.â
âAâight. What are you gettinâ into for the rest of the night?â Tippi asked as she lit up a Newport.
King smiled as he thought about what
