they sat and talked about it on the floor earlier.
Hearing that Harmony was a little badass didn’t make any of them feel any better. They all wanted to do right by her, shit, he could still remember a few years ago when they found out she was opening a PI office. It had shocked them, but then they also had assumed that Fish was the one who set her up, he hadn’t. Didn’t mean they didn’t support her, hell, before she refused to take their calls, Creed and Fork were prepared to let her run this business through the club, get to know her, and make their intentions known. Then she was fucking gone, just gone, and they had been pissed.
During college, Harmony had done an internship for some big agency. She had solved a major case and gotten a reward, used the money to start up her business. They had been proud of her, and were going to tell the guys their intentions. But one of the girls who was a dancer had to be taken care of before they could do that. The woman had been seriously wacked, Lola had been obsessed with Creed and Fork, thought she was their woman. Shit, they found out she was selling drugs in their club, in their fucking name, telling people it was Warriors drugs. It was all wacked, they had a party to set Lola up, and then sent her away. Creed and Fork were ready to make Harmony theirs and she disappeared. Not from the town, from them.
“We are missing something, one minute we were going to have a meeting, had the guys from the other chapters so we could do the vote and be done with it. Then Fish came and said Harmony refused to come to the compound, it was fucked up. No one would talk to us, and then Fish cancelled the vote. You know as well as I do, it is club rules, we can’t do anything unless Fish agrees, he said no, we had to back off. Now? Fuck this, something is going on and I want to know what. I will respect Fish and Monk, but they need to give us an answer. If they don’t, I am calling Shady in, she can talk to Harmony for us.”
Chapter Four
Dominic Reyes looked at the book in front of him. This wasn’t going fast enough, they had obligations to the cartel in Mexico, and they were about ready to fucking lose a whole lot of money if they couldn’t open the pipeline for delivery.
The Warriors and the Savages were a pain in his ass. All they had to do was look the other way, fucking bastards. The Diablos had connections. Those connections wanted a place to bring women, drugs, and guns without hassle. Took them a long time to find this little highway, the connection to all the major highways in the U.S. The perfect road, because no one patrolled it, and his sister had led him right to it. It ran right along the border of two states, right to the center of the country, the perfect place they would be able to distribute easily, and the cartel was not accepting no. Dom found it by accident, looking for his long lost bitch of a sister who had ruined his life.
The two idiots who were in custody didn’t matter to him. The nosy PI who was asking questions that made him nervous. He didn’t need his cover to be blown right now; no one even knew he was in town. His woman, Lola, had been smart, she had covered their tracks years ago. It made it easier to come and go from town when they thought you were an upstanding citizen; of course, Lola was covering the Savages, she couldn’t show her face here again after those assholes threw her out of town. It didn’t matter; they were still going to get what they wanted.
They were on a timeframe; a large shipment was coming to replace the goods they lost. If the PI kept asking questions, they were going to have to take care of business with her, as well as take on the Warriors.
He hadn’t told the cartel about the mines, Lola and he had a plan; it was going to take him out of the business and set them for life. But they had to play the games for right now, and losing money and shipments wasn’t smart.
“We need to make sure the shipment gets
