of bad stuff in the glossy magazines about her sister’s partying and drug taking.
    They were two different people.
“I doubt it’ll keep her under control.”
“Your parents’ biggest mistake is trying to keep that girl under control.”
“I agree with you.” Evangeline was a ticking time bomb. Addison was pleased she hadn’t seen her sister in some time.
“Your parents I’ve not heard from.”
The last time she had spoken to her parents was at Christmas. She’d been forced to go home with Shaun, where the two families spent the holidays together. Evangeline and her man had been there, and it had been a tense affair.
All the time, Addison had wished she was back home, rather than with people she’d never had anything in common with.
“They may get in touch,” he said.
So far, they hadn’t, and she didn’t mind. “I’m not too worried. They’d probably tell me to stop, or say I was embarrassing you.”
“You don’t embarrass me, Addie. I’m proud. I’m going to come over later.”
    “Okay. I’ll cook.”
“You order takeout while I’m with you. I’ll know you don’t like me.”
He pouted, and she couldn’t help but laugh at how childlike he looked. “That’s kind of cute. Maybe you should do that for all of our business meetings.”
She grabbed her coat, and bag. Staring back at him, she didn’t actually know what to do.
    “Kiss me,” he said.
Stepping up close to him, she stared at his chest. “Do you think this will ever stop?”
    “What?”
“This nervousness? I don’t know what to do when I’m with you.”
He gripped the back of her neck, and tugged her close.
    “Be yourself. Touch me, Addie.”
    “That’s not being myself.”
“Then touch me, touch your husband. I’m yours, just like you’re mine.”
She placed her hand on his chest. “This is the strangest thing in the world.”
“We were married before we knew anything about each other. We’ll adapt, and in time, touching me will be natural to you.”
Addison went onto her toes, and pressed her lips to his. “I’ll see you later tonight.”
    “You will.”
She left his office, and she felt happier for it.
When she got back to her apartment, she found Darla already set up in her apartment.
“How was the trip to the hubby?” Darla asked.
“I don’t know. I think it was good.”
“I’d say with the way your cheeks are, it was very good.”
Putting on the apron, Addison got the ingredients out, and when she was at the fridge, she touched her lips. Yes, it had been a very good trip to see her husband. That kiss, it had been wow, more than she’d ever imagined.
All other kisses faded into the background.
It made her wonder what else she’d missed out on.

The day had gone by so slowly since Addie had visited him, and Shaun was ready for the day to end. At five-thirty, he was done, his computer was turned off, and he was waiting for Bruce to finish up.
He wasn’t going to have Bruce working while he was long gone. Bruce had a family, a wife and a couple of kids.
“What are your plans for this evening?” he asked, riding down the elevator with him.
“I’ve got to pick Daisy up from soccer practice.”
    “Daisy?”
“Yes, I have a tomboy for a daughter.”
Shaun laughed. Daisy was a little firecracker.
    “What about you?”
“I’ve going to see my wife.”
Bruce chuckled. “You’ve been in a good mood since she visited. Did you get any of the brochures I left on your desk?”
He had, and he’d already booked a trip to Italy and to London. He wasn’t too sure about London though. The last time he’d been there, it hadn’t struck him as the kind of place to appeal to Addie. Still, he’d do anything for her.
    “Yes, I did, thank you.”
The elevator opened on the underground parking. He shook hands with Bruce, and made his way to his car. He’d just settled into the driver’s seat when his cell phone rang. When he saw it was his father, he frowned.
