                  “You need to leave right now Hamilton.” Lucy attempts to close the door on him. He puts his full body in and completely prevents that from happening.

                  I look down at my belly and sigh. I knew it was important that I at least try once last time to get on with Hamilton, as he was the father of my unborn child. I had to make sure that I wouldn’t make love to him again though.
     
                  “Fine come in.” I step back and Lucy groans.
     
                  “Are you sure about this Jenny? You don’t owe him anything.”
     
                  “I know, I know. I’m sure.”
     
                  Lucy sighs, “Do you want me to sit with you?”
     
                  “No, I’m fine.”
     
                  Lucy looks at her watch. “I promised Anna, I would meet her to catch a movie now. Do you want me to stay? I can postpone.”
     
                  “Thanks Lucy. I can handle it.” I hoped.
     
                  “Don’t do anything silly Jen,” She whispers in my ear. “I’m just a phone call away. I’ll come if you need me.” I give her a hug and thank her.
     
                  Hamilton is already sitting on the couch when I make it to the living room.
     
                  “So I see you’re really pregnant?” Hamilton looks at me grins. I look at him blankly, not in the mood for his jokes or his bipolar personality.
     
                  “What do you want?”
     
                  “I’ve missed you Jenny,” and he laughs. “Ironic, huh. I’ve known you all of 2 days and I’ve missed you.” My heart soars but I keep quiet. I didn’t trust what he was saying.
     
                  “And?”
     
                  “I’d like to play a part in my child’s life.”
     
                  “I thought you didn’t think it was your child?”
                  “No, I just asked if you fucked anyone.”
     
                  “I don’t have time for this Hamilton.” And I sighed. I couldn’t take it anymore. I’d never met anyone as obnoxious as him before in my life.
     
                  “Maybe I can make it so you have time.” He looked at me closely.
     
                  “What?”

                  I look at him with my mouth gaping. “How dare you.” I want to slap the smug look off of his face.
     
                  “I’m just being upfront with what you want, right Jenny? A quick affair and a bunch of money.”
     
                  I can feel hatred rising up in me.
     
                  “I was stupid and old-fashioned enough to offer you marriage. But I realize now that all you wanted me for was my money. With sex as a side-benefit. Well I can offer you that.”
                 
                  “How dare you.” I say again, shocked that he would think that of me and saddened to feel my blood racing from excitement.
     
                  “Oh I do dare Jenny. I do dare.”
