turn this around to make it her fault? She frowned and nodded.
“I’m sorry, you’re right, I should have let you open the door.”
He instantly felt guilty when he saw the defeated look on her face. She’d been beaten down enough, he didn’t need to make things worse. He locked the door back up quickly and then pulled her to his chest in a tight hug.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have gotten angry with you. I was just worried and didn’t want to see anything happen to you.”
She sobbed silently against him, clinging to him as if her life depended on it.
“Shh, it’s okay. I’m not going to let anything happen, Sera,” he soothed, petting her silky soft hair with gentle even strokes. She needed comforting, not reprimanding.
She looked up to him with watery eyes and he wanted more than ever to make all of those tears go away. He couldn’t believe how easily he’d become attached to this fragile little woman. It was unsettling. But he had a job to do and couldn’t let his blossoming feelings for her interfere with that.
She was irresistible. He couldn’t say no to her upturned face and wide open eyes begging for any kind of comfort. His lips descended on hers, meeting them in a tender embrace. He hadn’t meant to do it. He didn’t know what came over him. It was completely counter-productive to his aims, but there was no denying her allure.
Her face showed a hint of surprise at first, but she quickly melted into him. It was so nice to have someone show her kindness. It was nice to have a positive physical experience with a man as opposed to all of the nightmarish ones she had now. Her hands clung to his shoulders and pulled him in further into her tempting clutches.
He groaned in response to her enthusiasm. He hadn’t meant to start this, but now that he had, he needed to taste her, to feel her skin against his and to have her all to himself. She was his and he would do anything to protect her. The thought startled him, but not enough to pull away from her.
She matched his intensity and doubled down on it like a woman starved. She had no idea how badly she needed this, but now she’d opened the floodgates there was no stemming the tide. Desire coursed through her veins like a drug and she couldn’t get enough of the incredible earthy taste of him.
If his initial kiss was timid, his tongue was anything but. He plundered her mouth as if he’d never have another chance in his life. His hands roved her supple body, eager to touch every inch of her. When her teeth clamped onto his bottom lip and she moaned into him, it sent him over the edge.
“Sera,” he panted, searching her blue-green eyes for an indication that he could take this further.

Chapter 7

Her gaze told him so much that his heart ached. In one simple look she told him everything he needed to know. It was a look that said “Be gentle, I’m fragile,” and he planned to handle her with the utmost care.
Her fingers raked through his shaggy chestnut hair before pulling him back in for another kiss. She would be his undoing and he couldn’t even find it within him to be upset about it. If this was how he was going to go down, then he could live with that.
Sera grabbed a handful of his t-shirt and tugged him toward her bedroom. Psy looked back towards the door, feeling like he shouldn’t abandon his post, but he took one more look back to the seductive angel tugging at him and knew he couldn’t say no.
He followed her lead into the cozy little room, her bed was still unmade, but the room was tidy enough. Not that he cared at all about her cleaning habits at that moment.
Once she had him in her bedroom, she lifted his shirt over his head and trailed her delicate fingers down his rock hard chest and abdomen. She traced the outlines of his muscles and the soft feather-light touches drove Psy wild and made him painfully hard. He couldn’t stand it. There was something about this woman that was intoxicating, but she seemed to be
