play the piano.”
    “Really!  Me too!”
“Do you want to play something with
me?”
    “Can I?  Really?”
    “Yes of course.”
    She glanced around secretively and
whispered in her ear.
“Shall we tiptoe to the drawing room
and go and play something?”
Caitlin put her finger on her lips and
took Jenna’s hand and they tiptoed to the large door.  Once through it
Caitlin giggled when Jenna whispered.
“Now we run … run like fairies!”
Megan walked to the door and watched
them run, holding hands and giggling like naughty little girls, down the corridor.
She looked up as Liam and Callum with Connor on his hip, joined her.  Liam
hugged her and her eyes shone.  They followed them down the passage.
They heard the piano keys before they entered the room and Megan felt tears run
down her cheeks.
“It seems your little painter girl
managed to release our little Caitlin from her distrust in people.”
They sat down and watched Jenna and
Caitlin playing the piano.  Jenna showed her a few cords to play and then
she started playing a tune that blended with what Caitlin was playing.
The little girl was over the moon and she giggled happily.  When they
finished everyone applauded and she turned in their direction. She jumped up
and stormed to her mother.
“Did you see, Mommy?  Did you
see?  I played a fairy song with Aunty Jen!”
“I saw, my darling and you played
beautifully!  I am so proud of you!”
She smiled and walked to Callum and
climbed on his lap, sitting on the opposite leg from Connor.  She leaned
forward and whispered loudly.
“Uncle Call … I think she is a
fairy!  What do you think?”
Callum looked at the sweet little girl
and his heart contracted.  How he would love to have his own.  He
smiled at her and glanced at Jenna that still sat at the piano, watching
Caitlin with a small smile.
“Why do you think so, Angel?”
“Look at her and see.  Her hair
shines like a fairy, her eyes sparkles like a fairy and she is little like a
fairy!”
“I guess then you are right, the
little painter girl is a little fairy.”
Jenna glared at him.  Trust him
to turn everything into his view of her!  She jumped up and smiled at
Megan.
“And on that note, I think it is time
for me to retire.  Thank you for and dinner and it was really a pleasure
to meet your family. Night, fairy child.”
Caitlin jumped off Callum’s lap and
ran to Jenna.  She wrapped her arms around her hips and hugged her.
    “Night, fairy Jen.”
    Jenna turned and walked quickly
through the door and disappeared down the corridor, desperate to hide her
tears.  The little girl crawled into her heart in a matter of minutes.
    “Was that really necessary,
Callum?”  Megan snapped at him irritably.
    He shrugged his shoulders.
    “Only stated the facts.”
    Liam looked between brother and
sister.
“Fill me in here, Callum.  I
understand the little, but why call her a girl?”
“Because that is what she is.”
He looked at Callum, understanding in
his eyes.  He chuckled.
“Calling her a little girl is not
going to turn her into one you know.”
“Don’t have to.  It is what she
is.”
“I agree she looks very young, but
there is a maturity in her face and eyes. Strange that you missed it. I have a
sneaky suspicion she is slightly older than you wish to make yourself believe,
dear brother in law.”
Megan smiled and realized for the
first time what her husband recognized immediately.  Referring to her as a
little girl, made it easier not to think of her as a woman.  A very
desirable woman.  She saw the look in his eyes when she kissed that man at
the museum.  He was ready to commit murder, yet he would never admit to it.
“I also have a suspicion that your
dear sister knows how old she is.”
    Megan looked up innocently.
“Well, someone that has the ability to
restore antique artwork must be highly skilled and qualified, not to mention
experienced.  She has a Master degree in restoring
