Siena as he placed the ring I’d picked into Siena ’s hand.
“Yes. Give me one moment,” Siena replied.
Siena left quickly, but returned just a quickly. In her hand, she held a box. It was a box I recognized.
“I believe this was your special request,” Siena replied, handing the box to Ashton.
Ashton nodded, took the box then turned toward me. He grabbed my hand and placed the box into my palm.
“This is for you, my dove.”
    “Ashton, I—”
“It is to remind you of our wedding day.”
As if I could ever forget. I flipped the lid on the box. Inside was a diamond encrusted charm of two intertwined wedding bands. This charm answered my question as to how Ashton knew Siena . It matched the other two charms Ashton had given me. The horse charm I received on my nineteenth birthday, and the heart charm for Valentine’s Day.
“Thank you, Ashton. It is beautiful,” I said, lifting my wrist, allowing him to attach the sparkling charm next to the horse and the heart. “You are a wonderful man.”
“I am a lucky man. A blessed man. And I love you,” he said.
Carla was back with two trays of diamond wedding bands. I picked up a simple band with only a few pavé diamonds.
“Excellent choice,” Siena said, giving Carla the order. “If you will excuse me for just one moment, I will secure your choices,” Siena confirmed before leaving the room with Carla.
I needed to kiss Ashton. So I did. I covered my leg over his. My hands roamed up the placket of his navy blue shirt.
“I’m sorry, please excuse me. I did not mean to interrupt,” Siena said as she entered to find Ashton and me snogging.
I know I blushed. I moved off of Ashton. He just smiled as if nothing in the world was a foot, masterfully shifting his position on the chaise.
“Here are your purchases,” Siena said, handing two ring boxes to Ashton.
“Thank you, Ms. Lexington. As always I appreciate your assistance.”
“Thank you, Lord Archer. We at Cartier appreciate your patronage.”
Siena handed Ashton a slip to sign that showed the cost of the patronage he was giving to Cartier. Seeing the figure at the bottom of the credit slip, I felt the edges of the room shimmer. It wasn’t in Euros or Pounds. It was in Dollars. I started to hyperventilate.
    “What’s wrong?” Ashton asked.
    He dropped everything.
“Panic attack,” I managed to mutter.
I bent over, placed my head between my knees, and tried to gain oxygen for my lungs.
“Shall we call for medical assistance?” Siena asked.
I shook my head no. Ashton jumped up from the chaise. In a swift movement he was in front of me, upon his knees, and rubbing my back.
“Breathe for me, my dove,” he said, calmly. “Relax. Listen to my voice and breathe in and out, in and out…”
I listened to him. Took a breath.
“There,” he said, softly. “You are breathing now, my love.”
“I’m sorry,” I managed to squeak.
“Shh …You have nothing to worry about, and absolutely nothing to apologize for.”
“It’s embarrassing. People will think I’m insane.”
“No one believes you are insane. Therefore, you have nothing to be embarrassed about. Breathe for me.”
    Siena returned with a cup.
“Here, Trinity. Take a drink,” she offered.
I sat upright. I wanted to crawl under the lounger, but reached out with a shaky hand and took the cup. Placed the cup to my lips. Took a sip. The cold water hit the spot. I took in deeper breaths.
“Thank you. I am fine,” I said.
Ashton picked up the paper, the pen, and the ring boxes. He signed his name at the bottom of the slip before handing the paper back to Siena .
“If you do not mind, may we have a moment? I wish Trinity to have a few more moments of relaxation before we leave.”
“Not a problem, Lord Archer,” Siena assured, turning to go.
Ashton combed his fingers through my long hair, moving some curls over my shoulder. “What happened, my dove?”
I confessed, “I saw the cost. It made my heart and my
