do, but she was never quiet at doing it. Plus if she did, Chantal would know and she wouldn’t let her live it down.
She jumped in the shower for a quick cold one to bring down her raging hormones, got dressed in jeans and a top and walked back out there. When Skylar walked back into the kitchen, Nate wasn’t there. Frowning, she looked around.
“He left.” Chantal told her.
In a way she was glad he wasn’t there, to avoid dealing with the feelings that she was starting to have for him, but she didn’t want him to leave either. Make up your mind, she told herself. Skylar grabbed a drink and her breakfast and sat at the table. Chantal sat opposite her, watching her carefully. “What?” she growled at her, taking a bite of her food.
Chantal frowned at her, “So, you interested in Nate? I saw the way you both looked at each other.”
Skylar swallowed the food in her mouth. “No, I know his type and that not me at all.” Skylar said as she got up to go rinsed her plate off. Once done, she headed to her room without saying anything more to Chantal. She flopped on her bed and threw her arm over her eyes. She knew Chantal would follow her. When she had something on her mind she never gave up until she sorted it out. Groaning, she waited for Chantal to come in and say her peace.
She had started to doze off when Chantal came in.
“Sky, I’ve known him and Dom for five years. Trust me, they have had their fair share of women, but the way he looks at you is different from what I have seen when he looks at the others for just sex.”
Skylar groaned. She had been having these sexy fantasies of what she wanted to do to him and he didn’t even look at her like that in those. “Great,” she rolled over onto her front so she wouldn’t have to look at Chantal.
“Sorry, that came out the wrong way. He does look at you like that, but it’s more than just that, it’s like he really, really wants you for more than just sex. Can’t you see it yourself when he looks at you?”
Skylar really didn’t want to get her hopes up because she knew from the bottom of her soul that a guy like him would never go for a girl like her. He was absolute alpha male model material, and she was an ordinary girl who wouldn’t even be looked at twice to be considered a model. He had nothing wrong with him, perfect in every way. Green eyes that hypnotised you, short black hair, long enough to wrap around your fingers, a straight nose, perfect lips, chiselled chest, and a bloody six pack with the smallest trail of hair that ran from his navel to the top of his jeans. His thick-muscled legs that looked like tree trunks and his ass were easily meant to be grabbed. She wasn’t even in that category: wavy brown hair past her shoulders, blue eyes, size18D breasts, and freckles everywhere, which she hated.
She just couldn’t understand why he would even look at her like that . The only reason couldn’t be what Chantal said; it would be because he couldn’t see her as more than just a friend, or it was a dare with his friends, or she was ugly and he was just being nice. Well, the dare bit just pissed her off, hoping to God that wasn’t it.
“Sorry, but I can’t see what you see, Chantal. Even if I did, I would be only dreaming that it would happen and I know it isn’t going to, so can we drop it? I really don’t feel like talking about it anymore.” She rolled back over to see if Chantal was still there and listening to her. She was, and nodded with a sad smile.
“I’ll stop. But there is something there. So since you don’t want to talk about that, do you feel up to going shopping? Since summer is here I need a new wardrobe, you up for it?”
Skylar jumped off her bed and nearly took Chantal out. “Hell yes. We haven’t gone shopping in a long time.”
Chantal laughed and watched Skylar run out of the room. Getting up off
