the courtyard.  Lucilla followed in silence.
“Lucilla, I’m sorry you feel the way you do.  I can only hope that you can feel a small bit of honor for being chosen to bestow your…gifts onto the Emperor. “
Mila paused and then continued almost shyly, “I also hope that it wasn’t such a horrible experience to have me…prepare you for the Emperor.”
Lu cilla felt her cheeks burn red, but she had no response.  She wasn’t sure how she was supposed to respond to that. Was she supposed to reassure her captor that she was molested well?
Just as she was about to respond, she found tha t she and Mila were in the same courtyard that she was dropped off at earlier, although now the evening moon was high in the sky.  Lucilla felt her stomach tighten in nervousness.  She was scared, but eager to get it all over with.
Mila walked to the main door and opened it.  Lucilla couldn’t see through the door but could hear Mila speak.
“ Captain, how are you?” Mila asked.
“I am well, sister.  I’m here to pick up the girl.”
The girl? Lucilla didn’t have a name? She was just the girl that he heartlessly kidnapped.
“Of course, she is in here and ready for an audience with the Emperor.”
Lucilla quickly walked to the door and was immediately staring at the Captain.
“Hello Captain, good to see you again. Abduct any defenseless women since I’ve seen you last?” Lucilla asked curtly.
The Captain’s blue eyes stared Lucilla down and then he responded evenly, “Hello, you are looking…better.”
“Oh! You’ve noticed? The Vest al Virgins have the most amazing hands.  They can make the most common girl feel magical,” Lucilla said with a mild dose of venom.
The Captain’s eyes lowered briefly and scanned Lucilla’s almost bare body.  The sheer robe concealed very little, but Lucilla was too proud to cower in front of the Captain.  His eyes rested on her round breasts for only a second before he met her gaze.  “I agree.  The priestesses of Vesta are most magical and did a wonderful job,” the Captain said with a bow and Lucilla could have sworn she saw a smirk.
Lucilla wanted to punch him in his nose.
Rather than let the conversation continue and perhaps risk getting angrier, Lucilla abruptly burst through the door and stood next to the Captain and the two additional guards, waiting for their instruction.
“Sister Mila, thank you for both your kindness…and gentleness…during my captivity.  You were a far cry more humane than some other people.”
The young priestess smiled and bowed her head deeply, “The pleasure was mine, Lucilla. Enjoy your time with Caesar.”  And with that she nodded to the Captain and then closed the door.
Before the guards or the Captain could begin escorting her, she looked at the Captain and then slapped him across the face.
“It was you, wasn’t it? Were you the one who took me from my stand? It was you who abducted me, wasn’t it? Well? Answer me!”
The two guards standing next to him immediately moved towards Lucilla to hold her back, but the Captain motioned for them to stand down.  He then paused and then looked at her silently.
“Well, why! Why did you do it? You had no right!”
The Captain slowly walked towards her, his large frame becoming more apparent as he loomed over her.
“I do wh at I must as a servant of Rome.”
And with that he started walking down the hall, not bothering to look back to see if she or the other guards were following. Lucilla looked at the guards and then scrambled to catch up to the Captain.
“Why me though? Were you stalking the market place looking for a clueless woman to abduct? Or was it more personal? Was I wearing so mething not to your liking? Were my candles offensive to your nose!”
While still walking and looking forward, the Captain replied, “It has nothing to do with you or your candle stand.  I know Caesar’s taste and I knew that you would satisfy his.”
    “What gives you the
