smooth feel of her skin. She actually moans a
little, turned on by it, and I kiss her even more before giving her
a love bite. It feels so good to bite and suck at the right side of
her neck, but I try not to make it hurt. I can hear her enjoying it
too, breathing hard, and that makes me want to give her love bites
all over.
She kisses me
passionately once I’ve pulled away from her neck and we stay
entwined together for a while. I stroke her hair and stare into her
eyes, feeling so in love with her. She stares back into mine too,
looking at me like I’m the most special guy in the
world.
I’m about to
make a move but then she starts to say something.
“ It’s getting
late,” she tells me regrettably and I stop.
We both notice
that’s it’s now two o’clock in the morning and we have to be up in
five hours’ time for work.
“ I really don’t
want you to go, but we should really be getting some sleep,” she
says sadly.
I sigh in
disappointment, wishing I could stay too, “it’s okay. I guess we do
have to be up early.”
However, right
now I don’t care about work or getting sleep, I just want to be
with her all night long; but instead I grab my hoodie and bullet
proof jacket and head for the door.
We spend
another fifteen minutes at the doorway kissing and hugging goodbye
and I then I walk back to my flat, feeling really happy and teased
at the same time.
Chapter
11
Mick and I have
to work on Saturday night and I’m gutted because it means I’ll miss
Starlet’s dance show. We’re pretty busy and I hope we can get it
all finished so we can finally hit some bars. However, our plans
are soon forgotten when we hear a commotion outside.
“ Star’s in danger! We need
back-up now!” Bryan shouts.
My heart stops at hearing her name and anxiety rushes
through me at knowing she’s in trouble. I’m confused, wondering
what has happened, because she should be at Indigo Bar right
now.
I run over to Bryan,
ditching my work immediately, “Where is she? Are you tracking
her?”
“ She’ s moving,” he
answers, watching the screen. “It looks like she’s heading for the
city police station so maybe they’ve got her in one of the police
cars.”
“ I’ll go get her,” I say
determinedly.
Carl must have heard the commotion too and come over,
because he holds me back before I can go.
“ Rickie, it’s too dangerous to go alone,” he warns me. “Once
she’s at the station they’ll be several police officers there. Plus
this whole thing might be a trap to lure some of us
there.”
“ I don’t care!” I say
angrily. “If Star needs me then I’m going.”
Carl sighs, “Just be
patient and wait. We’ll make up a plan and get another freedom
fighter to go with you.”
“ There’s no time!” I insist. “What if Snider kills
her?”
“ I’ll go with him,” Mick
volunteers, appearing at my side. “We should be fine just two of
us.”
I
don’t wait around for Carl to accept, although I’m sure he’ll be
okay with it. I just run out to the car park to find Mick’s car. He
follows me and jumps into the driver’s seat, clicking his belt on
fast before starting the engine. I don’t even need to give him
directions there. We’ve rescued so many innocent people from the
police station that it’s pretty much routine by now.
Mick parks up in the back alleyway so they won’t see
us.
“ I’ll go inside and break
her out. I’ll call for back-up if I need it, okay?” I say, unclick
my belt and jump out of the car with my sleeping-dart gun
ready.
“ I’ll keep the car
running,” he tells me before I slam the door shut.
I rush over to the
building, climb up the fire escape and kick through a window on the
second floor. The glass shatters to the floor and as I climb in a
few police officers have been alerted and look towards me. I shoot
some with the sleeping darts and then fight two until they’re
unconscious on the floor with the rest.
