the panel slide open to let someone in. They didn’t even see someone stride into the space or stop and lean against the wall.
    But their trio saw the male now. Saw his midnight scales that covered his tanned skin, the black eyes devoid of any color and his black hair that seemed as turbulent as the emotions she saw coiled inside him. “While my mate goes shopping for gifts for my past lovers,” Rhal curled his lip. “What trinket would you like for fucking a fourteen-year-old, Lady Adar?”
    Cara realized being right about what happened to Rhal had never disgusted her more.
    The female froze, body stiffening when faced with Rhal in all of his deadly glory. She had no doubt he held onto his control by a thread. She’d never seen him this way, never seen his scales revealed fully. Not even when they’d gone swimming in the seas. Hell, she’d only witnessed his tail a handful of times.
    The question now was how long it would be before he snapped.
    Otta trembled once and then drew herself upright. “I prefer the finer fabrics from Tolon Prime.”
    Now Cara had her answer.
