Red?” She walked
across to him and wrapped her arms around his neck, her breasts pressed into
his chest. His heart thumped against her skin. “I think a drink and a soak in
the bubbles will do us both some good. We can swap bad date stories before we
go to bed, just to clear the air. We have some unfinished business to take care
of.”
He leaned down and nipped at her mouth. “Do
you have a cold beer in the fridge?”
She squealed and clapped her hands before
pushing him toward the bathroom. “The bubbles are on the shelf, I'll be right
back.”
Rhian skipped out of the room in all of her
naked glory leaving Red to fill the bath. She hummed as she gathered a tray
with glasses and drinks. Then she added some grapes and chocolate dipped
strawberries before she turned off the lights in the living room. She flicked
her fingertips toward the candles sitting in groups on small tables, lighting
them for effect for later on.
That’s if we make it out of the bedroom .
She carried the tray into her room and put
it on the bedside table while she threw the pillows on the floor to draw back
the covers. She lit more candles to set the mood after their soak in the
bubbles. Then she picked up the tray and walked to the bathroom.
Red was standing watching the bath fill.
She took a moment to let her gaze wander over the dark auburn curls hanging
down the back of his neck, and the broad back tapering to narrow hips. Her
hands itched to cup and bite the tight butt she had clung to before.
She coughed delicately and he swung around
to look at her, her breath hitched as she looked down at his semi erect penis.
“I think you can turn the tap off now. Leave some room for us or it will be all
over the floor.”
    “Shit, sorry. I wasn’t thinking and I don’t
have my glasses on. I’m as blind as a bat without them.” He grinned sheepishly
at her and turned to shut off the water.
Rhian walked into the bathroom and placed
the tray on a small table beside the bath. She ran her fingers through the
bubbles and felt the water. Perfect. She held out her hand and beckoned him to
the tub. “Sink in and I'll pass you a beer.”
Red took her hand and stepped into the tub.
He eased down into the warm water and leaned back and closed his eyes. She
pushed a cold can into his hand.
He looked up and held her gaze. “Thank
you.”
“Hey, you're welcome.” She took a clip from
a small bowl on the table and twisted her long hair into a knot on top of her
head. She slid the clip in, holding her hair in place before she stepped into
the water and sat facing him. Rhian reached for a glass of wine and settled
herself back. The bubbles settled around her breasts. She took a sip of wine,
sighed with pleasure and leaned her head back. She let her foot wander up Red's
calf, stroking slowly with the tips of her toes.
“Why are you doing this?” His voice broke
into her daydream.
    “What, stroking your leg?”
“No, being so nice. I mean, usually it’s one
date and I never hear from the girl again. I know I'm a nerd and that’s okay.
It’s a family thing, I get it. But once my lack of prowess and staying power in
the bedroom is discovered, chicks usually can't get away fast enough.”
Rhian looked at him in the pale light. A
blush ran up his skin and she filled with sympathy for him. She’d had her fair
share of dates that never went anywhere and she could understand why he was
feeling at a loss. But she could see something deep in him he didn’t know was
there and she wanted to discover a lot more. Besides, Nero approved and if her
familiar said this was the one, then she was going to fight like hell to get
him. Plus the Fates had left him for her, of that she was certain.
“What makes you think a little nerdy isn’t
sexy to me. I like you, you turn me on and it looks like it goes both ways. As
for your prowess, I'm reading between the lines here so feel free to disagree.”
She took a sip of wine, letting her tongue flick around her
