Earth and train them to adapt on Katiera with the warrior training. She had taken over when Captain Jaxon Malone stepped down from her position. But Jaxon still held a Captain position with the Katieran military and worked closely with Lucy. She was glad because it bothered her greatly that her friend was forced to step down. Jaxon was more to her than just her Captain, she was a friend, and now family since they both mated into the one. But Jaxon wouldn’t be there today. She had been on bed rest for weeks because of problems with her pregnancy. Lucy planned to visit her later that day to check up on her. She knew first hand that a bored Jaxon was a dangerous Jaxon.
“Good day, Lieutenant TarAK,” ConEL greeted the other male with a clasping of forearms.
“Commander ConEL,” the younger male responded.
“How are the warriors doing today?”
“They finished their warm up exercises and we were about to begin the match ups for hand-to-hand. This afternoon we scheduled target practice.”
“Very good. Carry on.” ConEL turned to see where his mate went. She was greeting her female warriors getting them ready for their training.
Lucy felt eyes on her and turned to find ConEL watching her. She gave him a smile before turning back to what she was saying, “We are going to run a couple of miles to get us started. We need to finish early for morning training because it feels like the heat is going to be in the high 90s today.”
ConEL stood beside TarAK as they watched the warriors pairing off. “Hold him firmer!” he yelled to one of the warriors.
TarAK grunted his approval. It was odd there was two of them there for the training. “Was there something you wanted to ask of me?”
ConEL didn’t look at TarAK. It didn’t surprise him the younger male would know something was up. “We will be cutting the afternoon training short. Prime Leader RendEL wants both of us to attend the meeting with the Leaders and Commanders.”
“You could have messaged me that news,” TarAK said.
“I wanted to ask how AriELa was doing without drawing attention from anyone,” ConEL admitted, glancing to make sure his mate was preoccupied.
“We are meeting again with the medics in the morning. She is nervous.” TarAK fought back his emotions.
“You will keep me updated on her condition.” It wasn’t a question as much as it was an order. TarAK recognized it.
“Of course. You are her father.”
“I am grateful to the Goddess for giving you to AriELa as a mate. You were a good choice,” ConEL admitted.
That did surprise TarAK. He looked at the previous Prime Commander and he felt honored. It was almost as if his own father was there giving him his blessing. “Thank you, but I am the one blessed by the Goddess with AriELa. She is a treasure.”
“Just remember that and treat her that way and we will not have any problems,” ConEL warned him.
“Yes, sir.”
“Are you done grilling poor TarAK?” Lucy demanded from behind him.
He turned with a smile on his face. “Yes. Come, we will take a walk on the ocean front.” He took his mate’s hand and walked with her toward the Waters of Katiera. It was proving to be a great day so far.
Chapter Seven
TarAK could not wait until it was time for Midday Meal. He was meeting AriELa in their suite to share the meal there. His steps quickened the closer he got. His life had changed so much since he mated with AriELa. He was completely in love with her. He had been since the first time he saw her when she was just a child. What he thought was an obsession, had proved to be the bond mate bonds pulling them together. He fought it for years but was grateful the Goddess kept throwing them together despite his efforts.
Now he was a happily mated male, part of the Prime family, and in love with the most wonderful female. He opened the suite door and stepped inside. He could scent her sweet fragrance. It was stronger in the bedroom. He hoped she was feeling well.
