a date or something?”
“Yeah.”
He sighed. “I'm not looking for a serious relationship.”
“I never said I wanted one. But today was, well, better than I thought it was going to be, and that's mostly because of you and Gina. I think I'd like to do that again.”
“You afraid you'll lose your other friends?” he asked.
Kathy thought of the nasty comments, the harsh messages. They were so quick to believe that she was a horrible person, even though they had known her for all the time she had been going out with Mark. If it had to be them or Eddie...
“I think I can afford to lose them.” she said. “Actually, I think I'd like to try listening to heavy metal too.” If the world was already topsy-turvy and would never right itself, then she was going all the way.
Eddie let out a bark of laughter. “Kathy, you are a very strange woman. Alright, for the sake of getting into your pants on a regular basis... do you want to come and hear me play on Monday night?”
She smiled, and whispered into his ear again. “Only if you get the dressing room to yourself afterwards.”

Why the name, Shay Kassa? No reason at all. The author just likes the sound of it.
