them or twist your ankle.” He said as he started to untie them. She noticed his fingers lingering around her ankle as he placed her shoes next to her on the wall.
She held her breath as Hunter moved between her legs and placed his fingers around her neck, holding her in place. She looked up into his eyes and saw them darken.
“Hunter, you don’t know how badly I want to kiss you right now but there is something I need to tell you.”
“What’s on your mind?” he asked as he leaned in closer.
Madison closed her eyes and whispered, “I’ve never been kissed.”
Hunter didn’t let go of her but pulled back slightly. “Open your eyes, Madison.”
She opened them as he smiled at her. “You’ve never been kissed? Not even on a dare in grade school?”
Madison shook her head. “I was never in a situation that allowed me to have the opportunity.”
Hunter took a deep breath. “I really like you, Madison and Lord knows I want to kiss you right now but I don’t want to take this moment away from you."
“Are you saying that you wouldn’t be able give me a memorable first kiss?” Madison smirked.
“I would love to share that memory with you, but you need to say the words to me,” Hunter stated in a smooth sexy tone. "Tell me that you want me to kiss you."
She looked into his eyes and bit her bottom lip softly. “Kiss me, Hunter.”
He smiled as he slowly leaned in but stopped right before he reached her lips. Madison closed her eyes and felt his lips lightly touch hers. Her hands gripped his chest as if she was bracing herself. She felt the pressure against her lips become more intense as her instincts took over. She felt him part her lips as she matched his movements. Her lips moved with his as her heart raced. His fingers moved into her hair as she felt his tongue play with hers. She surprised herself when she heard a soft moan escape her lips.
Hunter backed away and smirked. “Well, that's one for the memory books.”
She slowly opened her eyes and enjoyed him being so close to her. “Is that what all first kisses feel like?”
Hunter laughed. “No, I was in fourth grade and it was truth or dare game. It was over in two seconds.”
“I’m so happy that I waited.” She chuckled.
He smirked at her and helped her off the wall. “I couldn’t agree more.”
As they walked down the beach hand and hand, Madison smiled every time that a wave lapped over her feet. The cold water sent a chill throughout her body but she didn't care. As they rounded the bend, she saw the lit bamboo torches in the distance. She turned to look up at Hunter and smiled at the way his hair blow in the wind. Everything about him sent chills racing through her body. “What’s all of this?” she asked.
“My friend has a private bungalow and was nice enough to offer it to me tonight. It’s my secret getaway from the limelight.”
Madison grinned. “How many girls have you snuck away with?”
Hunter laughed wholeheartedly. “What a deadly question. Honestly, I have only brought one other girl here and that was my last serious relationship.”
“What happened?”
“People grow apart sometimes. She had a major problem with my busy schedule. When you date an athlete you have to realize that during the season, we are barely around.”
Madison nodded. “I understand that.”
“I’m sure you do,” Hunter paused and clearly wanted to change the subject. “Are you excited about your birthday party?”
She smiled. “For the first time in twenty years I can honestly say, I am.” She sat down on the padded bench and watched the water pour onto the sand in front of them. As she looked around she noticed a small table with some appetizers and two wine glasses. He had put some thought and effort into the evening and it warmed her heart. She felt him sit down next to her. “I heard that you helped Alicia with the plans.”
Hunter nodded as he sat down next to her. “You are going to have a blast,” he paused
