gently.  Then my brain emerged from its post-orgasmic fog.  “What do you mean you were keeping your hands off me until you had everything you needed?”

Those eyes darkened with sensual promise and I knew that whatever it was, it would be worth waiting for.  “Do you remember that I won the hair styling bet?  That I get carte blanche the next time we have sex?   Well, what I have in mind needed planning but believe me, it would have been worth waiting for.”

My eyebrows shot up almost to my hairline and everything south of my waist clenched in delicious anticipation.  What does he mean ‘would have been worth waiting for?’

I traced the outline of his lips with my finger tip.  “I don’t think that what we just did counts as a sexual encounter.  I think you should proceed as planned.”

He surprised me by throwing back his head and laughing heartily.  I couldn’t see what was funny – a sexual encounter that needed planning and was worth waiting for … what was funny about that?  My mind whirred with all the possibilities until it was distracted by the elevator jolting.

The elevator doors opened and I quickly grabbed the edges of my blouse and pulled them together.  Lucas grinned and then picked me up, into his arms.  “Relax,” he muttered through his smile.  “Nobody can see you; we’re at my apartment.”

“You can put me down now.  I think my jelly legs have returned to normal.”

He looked reluctant but he obliged and I quickly pulled down my skirt and fastened my top.  I took my purse from him and then held out my hand for my panties.

“Oh crap! I’m meant to be cooking dinner tonight,” I exclaimed.

“There’s plenty of time for that yet.”

“I know but I need to go shopping for ingredients and I can’t when I’m wearing no panties,” I explained.

“Ah, I see.  Why don’t you invite Angel over here and we’ll order something in?”

That’s a bit too cosy for my liking!

“Thanks but I know that Angel is looking forward to a girlie catch up.  With you being the topic of conversation probably,” I muttered dryly.

“I should probably be there to ensure that you don’t miss out any of the sordid details,” he chuckled and then stepped back, holding up his hands when I glared. “I was joking!  Write down the list of things that you need and I’ll go fetch them.  You can have a shower while I’m gone if you wish.  Just make yourself at home.”

I was gobsmacked!  He was offering to run an errand for me!  Where was my dark, brooding phantom who had no social skills?  I decided to take advantage of his good nature and scribbled down the list of ingredients that I needed.

“Oh and don’t forget to bring a bottle of white wine.  Nothing fancy – Angel will drink anything!” I told him as he disappeared back into the elevator.

Remembering the difficulties I’d had with no conditioner or hairbrush, I decided to take a quick bath instead.  I piled my hair up on top of my head and sank into the hot, fragrant water.  As I washed, something was niggling at the back of my mind but I couldn’t quite grasp it.  I still hadn’t been able to fathom what it was when I climbed out of the bath and wrapped myself in a luxurious towel.

I padded back into Lucas’ bedroom and towelled myself dry.  I looked at my clothes and the fact didn’t escape me that both times I had been here, I’d had my panties ripped off and had to leave wearing nothing to cover my modesty.  Damn that man!   I dressed and let my hair back down, running my fingers through it to attempt to establish some kind of order.

Lucas still wasn’t back and I wondered whether I should do a little snooping of my own.  Not looking in drawers and cupboards – not invading his privacy … no, just familiarising myself with his apartment … making myself at home.

I wondered down the hallway to the first
