sorry I don’t think this is going to work out.”
    “You don’t think this is
going to work out?” She pulled on her dress and fumed. “You
arrogant prick, how dare you.” She grabbed her shoes and walked
towards the door. “You’re an asshole.”
    “Hey, Vixen,” he called out
to her as she opened the door. “Want one last lay before you go?
Those dirty words turned me on.”
    “You’re insufferable and
disgusting.” She glared at him one last time and stalked out of the
room. As she walked to the elevator and rode down to her room, she
started to giggle. She had completely over-reacted. But he was such
a jerk. She knew he was a jerk from the moment she had seen him in
the lobby, but she didn’t regret going to his room. She felt alive
and powerful and independent. She had her verve back. She had
gotten some and left the man. And not the other way around. She
opened her door and jumped onto her bed in excitement. She was
back, and she wasn’t going to settle for anything but the best from
this moment on.

    Dear Ms. Craven,

Be in the office at 6 am if
you want to keep this job.

    Spencer Giovanni

    P.S. Save your excuses for
the unemployment line.

    “ Asshole.” Holly glanced at
her phone as she got ready to watch Celebrity Apprentice. She
wasn’t even sure if she should continue to watch the show. She
wasn’t really a morning person, and she knew it would be hard for
her to wake up and get to the office that early. But she really
didn’t feel like going to bed already. She was still wired from the
Red Bull she had had to drink on the drive back from Las Vegas. Oh,
Las Vegas, it all seemed like a memory now.
She had finally met up with
Lacey at the pool on Saturday and told her everything that had
happened with Don Juan on Friday night. Lacey had giggled with her,
and they had high-fived in the pool, but Holly had felt a bit
guilty at the pleasure she had taken at leaving him standing there
in his room. She knew that the guy probably thought she was crazy.
What sort of girl went to have sex with a stranger in his room, has
sex with him, and then goes crazy when he asks for a blow-job? She
shook her head and smiled at the memory. He deserved it anyway, she
thought. Cocky bastard probably got more blowjobs than he knew what
to do with.
Holly sighed as she sat on
the couch and turned the TV off. She had to be smart; she needed
this job, and she couldn’t afford to not hear her alarm clock and
end up late for work. She got into bed and turned off the lights,
but she wasn’t able to fall asleep. She kept thinking of Don Juan
and their almost night together, and the last email she got was
still weighing on her mind.
    She grabbed her phone and
pressed reply on the email and started typing away
furiously.

    Re: 6:00am

    Dear King
Giovanni,

    I’m pretty sure the HR
department would understand my need to file a complaint against you
and your crazy demands. However, I’m not one of those people that
like to complain before they even start the job. I’ll be in the
office at 6 am tomorrow, but I want to let you know how
inconsiderate it was of you to send me a request this late at
night. What if I had missed it?

    Your
maid/secretary/assistant Holly

    Holly placed the phone down
next to her with only a little gnawing in her gut. She closed her
eyes and was just about to drift to sleep when she heard the beep
of her phone. She had a new email. She lay there, knowing it wasn’t
going to be a good idea to check the email. She knew it had to be
from Giovanni, and she knew that it wasn’t going to be good. Bur
she couldn’t stop herself from looking. She grabbed it from the
dresser and opened it quickly, her stomach sinking at the words on
the screen.
