through the car window, the woman was a stick-thin blonde. Perfectly made-up, straight hair, button nose, and big boobs. The kind of trophy wife most guys swooned for. There were so many of them in Wild Summit these days that Jada didn’t give her a second thought. Didn’t give her a second thought, that is, until Brandon poked his head up from beneath the dash.
Bastard! She felt her heart drop. It was as if a horrible hollow had suddenly taken up residence in the pit of her stomach. Jada couldn’t believe it. Well, she could, but she didn’t want to. Had he really had his head buried in that woman’s lap? Jada slunk off into the night. The last thing she wanted was to see him. But then she had a change of heart. Maybe she did want to see him. Maybe she wanted to tell him exactly what she thought.
Chapter Four
Brandon was very pleased that the woman had been able to come up to Wild Summit on such short notice. He knew she was busy. He knew she had other clients. But after what had happened with Jada at the hot spring, he had needed to see the woman immediately. Fortunately, she had agreed to his request.
Earlier in the day, Brandon was simply going to visit Jada at the dealership. He was going to tell her about his bear. But the more he thought about it, the more he realized that his best course of action was to stay away until he had a solid plan. After all, how was he was going to explain this very complicated part of his life? Jada may have been the one, but he hadn’t won her over yet. And though he had done many things with his life business-wise, he knew that winning Jada would be his biggest test yet. If he couldn’t do it, everything else was for nought. He had to have his mate.
Brandon waved goodbye to the woman and headed to the front entrance of the dealership. He had some files he needed to pick up, but even when he should have been thinking about business, his mind sprang back to Jada. Her fresh skin. Her luscious body. Her sexy smile. She was a curvy, full-figured goddess, and what they had between them was a jewel. It wasn’t a casual fling to be treated haphazardly. His bear told him that whatever he did, however he did it, Jada needed to be treated right.
“Once a player, always a player, hey, Brandon?”
“…Jada,” Brandon looked up to see that she had snuck in the showroom door behind him. “I meant to call you.”
“You don’t owe me a call.”
“No, but…” Jada stared him down.“What’s wrong?”
“Why don’t you ask your blonde friend?” Jada said.
Ah crap. This was not going the way Brandon wanted. “It’s not what it looks like,” he said.
“Really? And what does it look like?”
Brandon searched for the words. He didn’t want to tell Jada about the woman, but the thought of causing his beloved any pain was much worse than any embarrassment he might feel. He was, after all, an Alpha, and being an Alpha meant there was one way to deal with the problem. Head on.
“Never mind, Brandon, it’s not my business.”
“Jada.” Brandon put his hand on her arm. “She’s a doctor. A therapist…My therapist.”
“And what’s she doing here?”
“Helping me.”
“Helping you what?” Jada asked incredulously.
“Helping me with some decisions I have to make.”
“Were those decisions in her lap?”
“What? No, it’s not like that,” Brandon said, understanding what Jada must have seen. “I dropped the keys to the showroom on the car floor.” Brandon looked into Jada’s sparkling eyes. He saw pain in her eyes. Hurt. He took both her hands, interlacing her fingers with his. It didn’t matter what the plan had been. Instinct took over. His bear knew what he had to do.
“She was helping me with decisions about my future. About our future. I want you to be a part of my life, Jada. I want it more than anything in the world.”

Now didn’t she just feel like the cat’s behind. If Brandon was telling her the truth, and she
