just broken our date without second thought. I felt terrible about it and I knew he would think I had changed my mind.
I hopped out of the shower ten minutes later and went straight to my phone. I turned the power button on and walked back into the bathroom. I started to brush out my hair before I ran back out and grabbed my phone. I dialed Fin’s number and put the phone on speaker.
“Hey pretty lady,” he said smoothly into the phone.
“Fin, I fucked up,” I replied, cutting to the chase.
    “Huh?”
“Chris just called me to come in tonight and I said yes. I totally forgot about our date. I’m sorry. You know I need the money,” I explained.
“Still work at the Game Cave, huh?” he replied.
“Yeah, I’ve gotta go. I have to finished getting dressed and go to work. I’m sorry. Rain check?”
“Eden, you know I don’t take rain checks,” he said with a laugh. “I’ll see you around.”
Fuck. Fuck. FUCK! There goes that one.
I angrily threw my phone into the living room and proceeded to dry myself off and dry my hair. Once I was dried and dressed, I ran out the door and hopped into my Jeep and sped to work.
I ran in and Chris thanked me on  his way out. I stood behind the register and put on my nametag and took a moment to catch my breath.
Around seven that night I was half asleep. The store was dead and I was still hungover.
    “Dinner has arrived!”
I jumped and lifted my chin off my hand. I looked over at the entrance to the store and laughed.
Finley was standing there with two big brown paper bags and a big grin.
“What do we have here?” I asked, standing up.
“Expensive gourmet from the East!” he answered, setting the bags down on the counter.
I opened one of the bags curiously and laughed again. I pulled out a carton of Chinese food and set it on the counter.
“You’re too much. Thank you,” I said, leaning over and kissing him.
His grin got larger and he pulled out a couple of cans of soda from the other bag and set them down. I pulled the folding chair out from under the counter and motioned for him to come around.
Finley sat down next to me and we ate our food and chatted like old friends for the next two hours.
When it was time to close the store, Fin grabbed the cartons and tossed them into the garbage, before taking it all out to the back. He came back in and waited while I pulled the grate down over the doors.
I turned after I locked them into place and bumped right into him. I didn’t realize he had moved until he was standing directly behind me.
    “Hi,” he said softly.
    “Hi.”
His body was shaking. I knew because of how close he was to me. But mine was too.
I looked up at him and he gently ran a hand down the side of my face.
“I know I’ve said it already, but I really have missed you, Eden. No one I’ve found compares to you and they never will,” he said quietly.
I closed my eyes and let myself take in his words, his touch, his smell.
    “Fin...”
    “Yes, Eden?”
I opened my eyes and looked deep into his.
    It was now or never.
    “Stay with me tonight?”
“Hell yes,” he said, leaning in and kissing me with carnal desire.
When he finally pulled away, we were both breathing heavily. I fumbled in my pocket for the store keys and Fin went around the counter to grab my bag. We went outside and I locked up the doors.
“I’ll meet you there,” he said, slapping me on the ass.
I grinned and hopped in my Jeep and got home as quickly as I could. I ran in and left the door unlocked and ran to the bathroom to freshen up. I heard the front door open a few minutes later then close. I heard Finley turn the lock and put the chain in its place.
“Where are you at, sexy girl?” he called out.
I took a deep breath and stepped seductively out of the bathroom. Finley grinned as I walked toward him.
I grabbed his hand in mine and motioned him for him to follow me, as I led him into the bedroom.
“I’m going to annihilate you. You know that
