her mother to say hello.
    â€œHello,” Tessa said.
â€œAnswer me this; how you get my number?” Simone asked.
â€œTrust me, it ain’t hard to get when you’re into the type of shit you’re into.”
Stefan leaned over and yelled into the phone, “Tell that bitch, fuck her!”
â€œTell that punk to get on the phone and tell me his damn self.”
â€œI don’t talk to the less fortunate,” Stefan said.
â€œLess fortunate? I ain’t the one selling my ass for money,” Tessa said.
Simone clapped her hands to applaud her mother. “You’re right; you’re such an upstanding member of the community. You make me so proud, I wanna go out and cop you a gigantic needle full of dope.”
Stefan burst out into laughter, almost hitting the wall as he pulled into the parking deck.
â€œFuck you; you always standing up for that fucking faggot. I’m your goddamn mama.”
    Simone’s face turned red.
This bitch has got nerve, saying she’s my mother
, Simone thought. “And I’m the nappy-headed girl you tossed in your mother’s lap for her to raise.”
â€œYou know what? I ain’t worried about y’all; carry it however y’all want.” Tessa sighed. “And you tell that damn Stefan I know what the fuck he did.”
Simone looked over at Stefan, noticing how red his face had become. “What did you do, Stefan?”
â€œHe called the police on Tony that day at the house, accusing him of trying to rape him, but get this; now he running ’round fucking him,” Tessa said.
Stefan pounded his fist on the steering wheel. “That bitch is crazy. She knows damn well I don’t fuck junkies.”
Simone giggled. “What are you trying to say, Stefan?”
    â€œThat he’s a fucking junkie,” Stefan answered.
â€œHey, Tessa, you heard that, didn’t you?” Simone asked.
â€œHis punk ass is lying,” Tessa said. “But I ain’t worried; payback’s a bitch. His foolish ass did something to spite me and he’s fitting to die behind the shit and he’s too dumb to even realize it.”
â€œWho’s gonna kill him, you?” Simone asked.
â€œI don’t have to lay a hand on him and as dumb as your ass is, you’re probably gonna join him. God knows what you two do together. And who is he to be calling my man a junkie when he’s a fucking abomination.”
Stefan took a deep breath. “Here we go with the religious shit.”
â€œDamn right, ’cause that’s what the fuck you are; running ’round craving dick at a young age,” Tessa said. “That’s why my sister killed herself; she was tired of dealing with your faggot ass.”
â€œWhatever! If you were so concerned about it, why you didn’t come to the funeral?” Simone asked.
â€œâ€™Cause she was too busy selling her pussy so she could score,” Stefan answered.
Tessa paused for a moment to think of what she could say to get underneath Stefan’s skin. “Hey, Simone, did Stefan tell you that he used to peek through the keyhole of his mama and daddy’s bedroom so he could watch his daddy undress?”
â€œBitch, I’ve never done no shit like that,” Stefan said. “Don’t make me jump through this phone and bash you in your damn face.”
Simone decided it was time to end the conversation. It had gone too far and it was obvious that her mother’s accusation had pained Stefan. “Blah...blah...blah... Take your delirious ass somewhere and score; that’s if you ain’t done so already.”
â€œYeah, I’m surprised you ain’t nodded off by now,” Stefan said.
Simone hung up the phone, looked at Stefan, and took a deep breath.
Stefan got out of the car and shut the door. “See, I told you it would be fun,” he said, before making his way into the building for his
